On 2006-06-05, KGA Golfer rated this Cobra King Cobra II Oversize a 4...(7039)

Details: I bought a set of used King Cobra II Oversize irons with Cobra graphite shafts.

Purchase: I was looking for a new set of irons and went to 2nd Swing. I hit some clubs and after reading some of the reviews, I found some of the Cobras. I did not hit them particularly well in the hitting area but I don't like to hit off mats at all. I felt I was hitting them thin and shanking them a little. I did hit some mid-irons well and decided to give them a try because I could return them for something else. After the rain, I played nine and absolutely loved the irons from the 5 iron to the pitching wedge. I did not mis-hit one shot. Great purchase and fair price.
Pros: I like classic irons and these have a wonderful appearance. They are not big and bulky like some modern clubs. They are simple but effective.
Cons: They seem to be light but I may replace the graphite shafts with a more traditional steel weight.
Quality: Though used, these are in great condition. Some marks on the shafts but the heads are clean with very little nicks.

Review Summary: I am happy to put these in my bag. I was looking for a trusted name without a high price.

Purchase:
Pros: In 2004 I tried Callaway X-12 Irons, but I returned to my good old cobras. In 2005 I changed the shafts into Steel Rifle Project X 5,5. The Result is TOP. These irons are easy to play and you have a super feedback even with offset hits. They are accurate and long. I also play the Cobra SZ 440 Driver. It's a good combination.
Cons:
Quality: TOP quality.

Review Summary: If your looking for high quality forgiving irons, look no further. Even Callaway Irons are not easyer to play.

On 2004-01-25, Chuckgolf rated this Cobra King Cobra II Oversize a 5...(2686)

Purchase: I purchased these irons used for $80. A guy was going to trade them in to Play-It-Again Sports and they only offered him $35. I offered him $80 and bought them. I was then asked to leave the store, but it was worth it.
Pros: I was previously playing an old set of Knights, and these irons are far superior. They are very forgiving and really help my game. The distance I get from my 3-5 irons is impressive (about 210/220 yds with the 3 iron). I could never get that distance with my Knights. The Cobra's do feel slightly heavier, but that's probably why they hit so long.
Cons: Nothing to complain about. There accurate and long.
Quality: Superb!!!! These irons are top notch.

Review Summary: If your looking for high quality forgiving irons, look no further. The newer version are the Cobra SS. If you can't find a deal on used King Cobra II irons, the SS version are getting great reviews too.
