Purchase: Purchased on-line at TGW, based on TV infomercials. Purchased w/ the desire to improve timing and eliminate the over-the-top I was diagnosed during a lesson (who also gave me this thing to try). Purchase price: $130. Pros: The unit was well constructed and the grip assistance was more beneficial than I thought. The 'grip reminder' feature is one of the reasons I still pick the thing up. It is also short enough to swing in the living room w/ 8 ft ceilings while your watching the Golf Channel in the winter without dinging up the drywall. Cons: Not sure any real swing benefits can be achieved with this. I've worked w/ it from nearly Jan thru July - regularly. It promoted a quick take-away of the club from the ball - Nick Price like. That fact screwed up the entire tempo of my swing from the get-go. After jerking the club away from ball to get the first 'click', I found myself manipulating my hands to can get the second 'click' on the downswing/impact and not really correcting your swing fault. As stated before it was short enough to swing indoors, but this shortness did not transisiton well to a longer club (i.e. driver) where the over the top move seems most prevalent. Quality: Review Summary: Did absolutely nothing to improve my game or the over the top move coming down. If your looking to correct that as I was, try the Izzo Smooth Swing Trainer (arm-band) which keeps your elbows close together during the whole swing and allows you to hit balls with on before the Swing Setter. The Izzo-band set me back $10 and seems to have done 10x the correction factor to my swing than this thing did for $130. The Swing Setter will keep you guessing on what your doing wrong and what you need to do to correct it.

Purchase: Club pro shop £69.99 Pros: The thing I like about this device above all others is that you need to execute the correct action to get the thing to work properly. You can get the first ball to click on the backswing with a jerky wrist action, but when you get the technique correct, you will realise instantly that there is something different and rhythmical about the action. The sound of the click of the second ball gives you tremendous feedback and a sense of your release point. Most of all, I have learned to release my hands with speed through impact. Closing your eyes whilst executing the downswing builds your auditory senses and timing perception. You can definitely take these sensations to the course. One more point the grip is an absolute dream. In my opinion your hand position feels very natural when you place them on the moulded contours, you can't go wrong. Cons: I think the plane pointer is a bit of a gimmick, but I suppose it has no particular disadvantage. Quality: Mine is well built and you can noticeably sense the difference in the settings. For me the best setting is just below 2 on the backswing and 2.5 on the throughswing. Because the dial has a setting 1 to 5 , there is ample room for adjustment either way. This adustment feature is plus point that other training aids don't often offer. I liked the training DVD very much which was reasonably succinct and gave some useful drills and training programs. Review Summary: I am not one for rating anything on the internet, but when I wanted to buy one of these I looked for an honest review. I must say, most of the ones I found were pretty useless. The best advice I took was speaking to my pro who demonstrated the product and gave me a try. I recommend you do this too. Overall a great training aid and one I will use time and time again, especially in the winter.
