Purchase: -I picked a pair of these up at Dunham's Sporting Goods about 4 months ago. I just started golfing again since around 1985 so I needed new shoes. I like them because they're more of a sport-tennis shoe than the usual moc or saddle style shoes. Sorry, I guess I'm just not old enough to wear those styles yet! I got them for $24.99. Not a bad price at all.
Pros: -I like how comfortable they are, and that they don't look like they're for someone who is about 200 years old! I took the spikes out and wore them around for a while to break them in. They are just about as comfortable as my Avia 233 jogging shoes. They are white leather with the usual foam rubber type sole that you see on tennis and jogging shoes. They have the large plastic thread, screw in soft spikes. The spikes are just now starting to wear down to nubs in places, so I'll be replacing them with Black Widows real soon.
Cons: -Probably just the the fact that I got white instead of black. Keep getting pretty good grass stains on my right toe. Black I wouldn't have to clean as often. Oh, and maybe waterproofing them would have been a good idea too.
Quality: So far so good. No loose seams or tears anywhere. Soles are still great. Laces stay tied unlike some of those other laces that always unravel every 5 minutes. All of this is pretty good considering the course that I play looks like it's transported from Switzerland. Very hilly! Ah, gotta love the foothills of the Appalachian's!!
Review Summary: For $25, you show me a better deal! I might try Nike or Etonic next time, but only if I find them around the same price as my Dexters. If I don't, I'll gladly buy this brand and model again.
