On 2003-07-22, Bob rated this DivotMat DM250 a 5...(1855)

Purchase: A friend of mine recommended I check this out because I hadn't played golf for 3-4 years and was afraid my swing had deteriorated quite a bit. I ordered it directly online from http://www.divotmat.com for $39.95 along with their SuperSize Bucket of DivotSheets for another $29.95
Pros: This product really helped me to hone my swing. Like the joke about Carnegie Hall, to get to play a good score it takes "practice, practice, practice". The DivotMat shows you how your clubhead is coming thru the ball (like a Divot!. When I stopped playing a few years back, I was a 9 handicap but then I lost my swing completely couldn't get it back and just gave up. After a friend recommended this product, I started using the DivotMat for the recommended 8 minutes a day (just like the ab commercials!) which corresponds to 2-3 sheets used. I also went to the range on Saturdays and hit one or two large buckets (about 50-60 balls each) for a month. The first week of using DivotMat, I found then fixed something in my swing (the ability to take it back farther) because I could see it on the DivotSheet! My shots were now more consistent and 20-30 yards longer though I was still pushing them right. This last week, while practicing on the DivotMat, I decided that my left arm wasn't straight enough and added that correction as well. Sure enough, the DivotMat told me that I was cutting across the ball less and starting to take a proper divot (ahead of the ball, not behind it). I was really excited to go to the range and test it out. So last Saturday (July 19th) I went to the range and was hitting my 6-iron straight and true out to 185 yards. Then I was so happy I decided to play a round of golf and see what would happen in the real world: I ended up shooting a 92 which isn't a "9-handicap" score but I know that w/o the DivotMat, the "practice, practice, practice" I would have shot 122. I had first-hole jitters (9 on a 5-par) and three 3-putts. I also had 5 pars and hit 5 greens in regulation. I believe that I could have shot at least six shots better easily. I look forward to my next round!
Cons: What's not to like?
Quality: Fabulous! They make it out of some "indestructable" polycarbonate material and the paper with its target golf ball pix is printed professionally.

Review Summary: Highly recommended! If you are serious about grooving your game, this is a great product. Need 5-10 minutes of practice anywhere you want to each day? Then this is the product for you.

Went to the range yesterday to practice. Took the new 9.5* driver to test it out. I hit it a lot better than I figured I would with that factory insta
