On 2003-07-07, Stefan rated this Dunlop Tad Moore 01 a 4...(1717)

Purchase: $350 CDN at a boxing day sale from Nevada Bob's golf shop. Was looking for a set to replace my old Square two irons from 1996. Technology is changing so much now i felt i was at a disadvantage using 7-year old irons.
Pros: Good price for top of the line Dunlop club's. Definetely a game improvement iron, low center of gravity, large cavity, lots of bounce, lots of offset and a thick topline usually preferred by high handicappers. Also fairly forgiving. It is possible for a high handicapper to get the 3 and 4 irons in the air.
Cons: All of the things listed above. I like more traditional looking clubs (like blades) so the offset and thick topline didnt really suit my eye too well. because of the large cavity and offset it is pretty hard to work the ball with this club, although its nice to miss-hit a 3 iron and still get it on the green.
Quality: Good quality although the club has suffered numerous scrathes and dents on the sole which leads me to believe they either used a softer metal like carbon steel, or they weren't cast very well.

Review Summary: These arent the crappy irons you would expect from dunlop that you find at Wal-Mart, these can actually compete with the big names. And if a high handicapper wants to improve there game without buying $800 Callaways these are a good choice.
