On 2004-10-28, Mike Baker a 15 handicap rated this EOS 3.2 Cart Bag a 3...(4702)
Purchase: I bought this bag online from Beaverdam623d
(a very good online supplier I might add)for $50, plus I had to pay some shipping charges; but for an item that retails for $199 on the EOS website I feel this was a very good purchase.
Pros: I am writing a review on this item because I could not find any reviews online when I was searching for one and I thought others might be investigating this product also and wanting input from someone who had first hand knowledge.
Impression #1 when taking it from the box:
First class materials and construction!!
Impression #2.
Ample storage space and pockets: all accessible from the front.
Still impressed with the quality and construction; beginning to study the proprietary materials that prevent scratching of my new graphite shafts. . .
now I'm really getting impressed. The larger (9-1/2" Diameter) opening was just what I was looking for to keep my clubs from sticking when I took them in and out.
Cons: Impression #3 as I began to take my clubs out of the old bag and put them into the new one: Where's the center handle??? The bag comes with 2 really nice handles on each side of center, but don't you want to pick a bag up with 1 hand most of the time if you are going to pick it up? Oh well, so I grabbed both handles to lift it up and was greeted by the bottom of the bag tipping towards me and crashing into my shins.
Impression #4:
Something looks funny as I began to load the clubs in; The driver and fairway metals seem like they are going in backwards from what I'm used to seeing; they have to go in this way don't they; maybe I'm just not used to the new bag layouts, my old bag is pretty old. So I turn them around the other way. . .this is definitely not right so I turn them back around; this has to be it, with the taller clubs to the tallest pert of the bag. It just seems wrong somehow.
Impression #5:
I picked the bag up to check out the feel and my clubs almost fell out when the bag rotated on the shoulder strap and lurched forward. The center of gravity just isn't right.
Quality: Like I said previously, the quality and construction is first rate to be sure. The clasps and rings are heavy gage material. The bag is top quality nylon, almost like a ballistic material. The zippers are strong and large. I like the workmanship a whole lot. Some really neat features. The security features. I'm sure they would detere all but the most well tooled crooks at a golf course,I'm sure they would protect well.
Review Summary: I investigated this bag for quite a while online. I was not able to find any locally to get my hands on and check out so took a chance when a good deal came up online. Bottom line, it's going back. . . well maybe I can sell it to someone around here.
What good is a bag if it's not servicable.
What a dissapointment, I was really looking forward to getting this first rate bag. Concept is good, the design needs some work. You could make it work if your requirements aren't too high.
