On 2008-02-13, DON rated this Evolve Golf Epoch Tees a 5...(8012)

Details: Epoch tees come in a variety of sizes, from the 1-1/2' Hybrid tee, up to the 3-11/4' driver tee. White in color, and diodegradable

Purchase: I got a couple packs of these tees to see if they work as well as claimed. I ordered them directly from Evolve Golf. I got some 1-1/2', 2-2/4' and 3-1/4' lengths in white. They come in combo packs. You get 40 long tees with 10 of the 1-1/2' Hybrid tees.
Pros: The tees are a bright white color, so it's easy to find them after your tee shot. They are a little thicker and stiffer than some of the other performance tees, so getting them into firm ground is easier. What I really like about these tees is that they last a long time. Most wooded tees will break more often than not. These tees are stronger than wooden tees, and can last a whole round if you don't lose it. The short 1-1/2' tees are great for hitting an iron on the par 3 holes. In the past I used a broken wooden tee on par 3's, but not now.
Cons: I find the 2-3/4' tees to be a waste of money for me. I only use tees of 3-1/4' or longer for my 460cc driver, so the shorter 2-3/4' tees are no better than standard wooden tees for my needs. If you like shorter tees for your driver, than this shouldn't be a problem for you
Quality: The tees are made of a biodegragable material, slightly thicker that the usual wooden tee. They are bright white, slightly flexable, and the top is cut away a bit to look like a ROOK, for those of you that play chess. Quality is quite good.

Review Summary: If you like a tee that will not break every time you hit your ball, give these Epoch tees a try. They will last a long time. The taller 3-1/4' tee is great for most modern 460cc drivers, and the short 1-1/2' Hybrid tees are great for iron shots on par 3's. I find the shorter tees a little TOO short for use with a fairway wood, but others might disagree. I find a standard 2 inch tee better for hit a fairway wood. 1-1/2' is too short, and 2-3/4' is too long.
