On 2005-03-16, DON rated this Face Saver Plus Oversize Iron Head Covers a 5...(5198)

Purchase: Purchased at local golf store. Paid $15.00, Retail is $20.00. They come 2-SW in most cases, but some of the older packages only have 9 covers, not 10 like the new packages do. Pays to check.
Pros: I had a set of head covers for my wife's irons and I didn't care for them much. Came off too easy when you didn't want them to. What I like about these headcovers is that they stay on. Doesn't matter if your clubs are in the trunk on the way to the course or whatever, they stay on until you take them off. They come with a lanyard that connects two headcovers together. This means that when you remove one cover, the cover is still attached to the other one next to it in your bag, so you don't lose the headcover and you always know exactly where it is.
Cons: My only complaints are minor. They only come in black, I have two sets of irons and it would be nice to have one set of red covers. They don't have covers for other irons that most of us carry. No lob wedge or gap wedge or high lob wedge. You can buy extra blank covers if you want, but the price isn't worth it. Better to just buy two sets and change the numbers to match your extra irons. How many of you carry a 2 iron?
Quality: Quality and construction is excellent. The cover is thicker than the other headcovers I have seen and should last for many years. They have a small plastic clip that fits over the hosel of your clubhead, and it works great to keep the cover in place

Review Summary: The Face Saver Plus covers are the best I have found anywhere. Top Quality and they stay on. Worth every penny if you have a decent set of irons that you don't want to get banged up, either on the way to the course or while you play. Especially if you have a set of forged irons, as they are much softer than cast irons and get dented up pretty easily. Buy two sets and have a cover for all your irons. If you do lose one, you'll have a spare.
