On 2005-09-21, Randy rated this Feel Release Grips a 2...(6217)

Purchase: I bought 2 boxes directly from Feel Golf. I maintain 2 full sets of clubs, Callaway X-14's and Callaway X-16's. The X-16's are my primary club set. If my memory is correct, I paid $99.00 per box for a set of 13 grips/box.
Pros: I think they perform as advertised. The smaller butt-end does allow a person to get more of the grip in the fingers and off the palm. Slightly improved "release" with wrist rotation through impact. Slightly increased clubhead speed due to the improved rotation and a little less tension (at least perceived less tension) in the hands and wrists.
Cons: The grip is awfull when the grips are wet... either from rain or sweat. The first time I played them in the rain, I almost lost the club 2 times. They are also not comfortable when you need to "choke down". There is a bumper at the end of the grip (at the very butt end) but there is nothing acting as a "stopper" when you choke down on the club.
Quality: I had no problems with the quality or construction. The grips appeared to me to meet their advertised condition in both quality and construction.

Review Summary: I gave these grips a full test by installing on both sets of my clubs and leaving them on for over 4 months. This covered approximately 50-60 full 18 hole rounds plus several dozen trips to the driving range. I finally took them off because the benefits to me were outweighed by the drawbacks (terrible, just TERRIBLE) when the slighest bit wet and you can't choke down on any club for punch shot, between clubs, etc...
