On 2008-06-22, DocT rated this FootJoy ReelFit Saddle Golf Shoe a 5...(8119)

Details: White body, black crosshatch, black smooth saddle, black toungue. BOA lacing system (push in the dial at the back of the shoe, turn the dial to tighten the lacing, pull out the dial for immediate loosening of the lacing for shoe removal). ECL (Extreme Comfort Leather) advanced waterproof leather. EVA midsoles. Tri-Density TPU Outsoles. OptiFlex forefoot. Fast Twist Pulsar cleats.

Purchase: Purchased this shoe at The Golf Warehouse for about $100 on sale. I've always wanted to try these out, so I fitted them at Plaza Golf in Torrance, CA. It felt very comfortable, and I ended up purchasing it online from TGW.
Pros: The BOA lacing system is quick. Just slide the shoe on, and a quick turn of the dial, and now the shoe is fitted snug throughout your foot. It wraps around the ankle very snuggly, and feels very comfortable. Walking a 5-6,000 yard course is no problem. The soles are very comfortable and you don't feel the bumpyness of the ground at all. Twist and turns of the foot during a swing doesn't get hindered by the shoe either. After a round of golf, removal of the shoe is as quick as pulling out the dial in the back of the shoe, and the laces quickly unlocks. Great to get that first parking stall at the 19th hole before your buddies get there. The pulsar cleats are a cinch to replace and can be found at any pro shop.
Cons: Nothing I don't like about it. I wish this shoe came with the gel sole that the GF:II shoe comes with. I'd be 'gellin' with that sole!
Quality: Quality of the shoe is great. If it lasts as long as my GF:II, then it's perfect. BTW, my GF:II are still in great shape after 2 years worth of walking.

Review Summary: Great shoe for those who are too lazy to tie a shoe lace. Great shoe for those who hate having shoe laces get untied during a round. Great shoe for those who have trouble bending over to tie/untie their shoes. Overall, a very well-made and well-thought shoe design with the golfer in mind.
