On 2004-10-06, Brian rated this Founders Club The Judge 400cc Titanium 10 degree / stiff flex a 5...(4558)

Purchase: Purchased in Northern Virginia at Washington Golf for $99.00. Refuse to pay Big dollars for the big names. Always looking for good looking, well made driver.
Pros: Very good price. Sharp looking(Highly Polished Classic Shape other than 400cc size)Great stock grips at least for my hands. I think the large 400 cc head makes it seem easier to hit which adds confidence which adds yards.
Cons: Very loud red velvety type head cover proclaiming "the Judge". Manufacturers' trying to draw attention to their product. Based on the price and performance of the club it would seem a good idea, as the club lives up to the "red hot over the top performance" indicated by the cover.
Quality: From a visual sense it is a sharp, eye-catching club that appears based on the finish and fit to be a very high quality club.

Review Summary: My old Steelhead was falling behind the technology curve and I had tested many of the new Ti drivers and definately could apprieciate the benefits, however, I never was ready to spend $300 plus on the newest fad driver. I tried the "Judge" and it performend as well if not better than many of the big names. I really like the performance and I have retired my Steelhead. This club is easier to hit straight (I hit fade which can turn slice in a blink of an eye)My carry was 220 to 230. I am in the 240 range now with the new driver which has which puts my drives in the 260 to 280 range. I consider the extra 10 yards really quite amazing as it came immediately and purely as a result of a club change. All this for under a hundred bucks is a real deal.
