On 2007-08-26, The professor rated this Geek DCT Fairway a 5...(7901)

Details: 3-wood and 5-wood, deep gray/blue, flat bottom with 3 minor rails. 3-wood is 160cc and 5-wood is 150cc

Purchase: I purchased this head directly from Geek golf for $59 (for each head). Saw some great talk on some blog sites so I Got their contact information from their website (www.geekgolf.net). I then shafted each with a fujikura E370 stiff shaft.
Pros: Great look with clean lines. Hits have a semi-solid feel to them with good feedback for determining mishits. I even prefer hitting off slightly deeper fairway grass or second cut edge with the rails. For years I have been using a taylormade fairway wood because I like the compactness of the head and the sold feel at impact, but feedback on mishits is not as good as the geek head. I was amazed to find that I can draw or fade these geek heads even more easily. In fact, so much so that I had to practice on the driving range to tone down my draw and fade techniques. They really respond. The shaft/head combo is great and I am still trying to figure out why my 5-wood can go 240 to 250 (20 yds further than my taylormade head). Amazing!
Cons: Face height is a little more than I usually like in a fairway wood but with a 160cc size in the 3-wood, it plays compact.
Quality: I have used these clubs in at least 12 rounds of golf plus numerous hours on the driving range and other than bottom scraping (as expected), their construction and quality is superb. Still amazing looking.

Review Summary: Overall, the Geek DCT fairway wood is a great fairway head that can easily work the ball and provide good feedback. I would like to see a slightly lower face height (2-5 mm), but that is only because of my preference. However, based on playing performance I would be stupid to beg Geek to change anything.
