On 2004-02-11, EdG rated this Golf Gear Tsunami 360cc 10 Degree Driver a 5...(2785)

Purchase: I received a recommendation from a close friend to try the Tsunami driver. He stated that he purchased a Tsunami driver and the increase in distance that he experienced was remarkable. I am skeptical about stated results that some golfers make about their clubs but I agreed to accompany my friend to the driving range the next day. I hit a bucket of balls with his Tsunami driver. WOW! No only did I hit the ball about 20 yards longer, but all of my drives were remarkably straight. The only real swing adjustment I made was to swing much easier. There was no need to swing hard. I deliberately lined up in my stance to miss hit a few drives and I still managed to hit the ball straight less some distance. Needless to say I went out and purchased my own Tsunami driver. After thirty rounds of golf I am very satisfied with this club. I bought a club with a slight blemish for $249 and its the best investment that I have ever made in a golf club.
Pros: I actually like two things about the Tsunami. Its long and its straight. I previously used a Callaway Steelhead II Plus 10 degree driver. I averaged about 210 yards per drive. With the Tsunami I average about 230 yards but, more importantly, my tee shots are in usually in the fairway.
Cons: What's not to like. With the Tsunami I hit the ball farther and straighter. I've taken five strokes off my average score for 18 holes. The game becomes much more enjoyable when you play from the fairway and don't have to sacrifice distance for accuracy.
Quality: The quality and construction of the Tsunami rates right up there with any of the top manufacturers products.

Review Summary: If you are considering the purchase of a new driver, take the time to hit the Tsunami. This club is an excellent choice for the average golfer because it is so forgiving.
