On 2007-06-04, Gene O rated this Golfworks KE4Tour a 5...(7787)

Details: 4-PW, Bent 1 degree up, With UST Proforce 75 RV2 Gold R flex shafts, Avon Chamois grips. KE4 Tour heads are midsize w/adjustable weights.

Purchase: I bought the components from Golf Galaxy who handles Golfworks products. I have been looking to replace my Cleaveland TA7 irons not because I don't like them but I needed to get away from steel shafts due to hand problems. Did not want to change shafts of TA7's because I play very well with them. Will keep them for back up. KE4 Tour heads were $17 ea and shafts were $25 ea.
Pros: KE4 Tour irons look like the TA7's at address position and ball fleight is almost the same, slightly lower which I like. The Proforce 75 RV2 shafts almost feel like the Truetemper release shafts that are in the TA7's, slightly stiffer. In fact the PF 75's can be swung more agressively. Only one or two clubs needed additional weight to bring them to D2 swingweght. I did not change the weight screws but epoxied them in place.
Cons: Care must be taken when tightening the weight screws. I broke the wrench they give you for adjusting because I was careless.
Quality: Construction, design, and quality of the KE4 Tour irons and Proforce 75 RV2 shafts are wonderfull. These make a great combination. You can assemble these your self or have a clubfitter do it and you will save many dollars either way. The irons have all the latest design features, ie; undercut cavity back, adjustable weighting, progressive offset, perimeter weighting.

Review Summary: Golfworks has pioneered inovative golf club designs and I believe the KE4 Tour irons will be in my bag for a long time. I've changed shafts in many drivers, fairway woods and iron sets and Proforce/UST shafts are the most consistent and high quality shafts out there. Additionally they are resonably priced.
