Details: I just purchased the new three groove sharpener. It came with a storage case so I can carry it in my bag.

Purchase: I had taken a lesson from the golf pro at San Ramon Golf Club and one of the things the pro did was look at the shape of my clubs. He recommended that I keep my irons sharpened. So I did some research and found a lot of videos on line that described the different products available. The Grove Sharpener impressed me the most. Grove sharpener was the first on the market and from what I can tell they have been improving the product continually since inception. I bought the unit from the web site. Grovesharpener.net and paid $31.49 for it. That is a great bargain for a tool that offers so much.
Pros: The main thing I like about the Grove Sharpener is that it really does work. I have been spinning the ball better on close shots and have been holding the greens better with longer shots. The Grove Sharpener has a lifetime money back guarantee which speaks to the quality of the unit. It is designed to keep your clubs legal using 0.020 depth and .025 width on the surface of the club. It is very versatile because it can be used not only on U grooved clubs but also V grooved and square grooved clubs.
Cons: I have only had my Grove Sharpener for two weeks but so far I have no complaints.
Quality: The Grove Sharpener is made of A2 ultra heat treated tool steel and measures 61 on the Rockwell hardness scale. This is more than needed to handle the stainless steel my clubs are made of.

Review Summary: I really liike the tool and wish I had bought it sooner. I can deffinately see the difference. The thing is any tool is only as good as the person using it. So in order to get spin on your ball you need to use a ball that has a soft cover like the Titleist PROV1 and make contact with the ball first in your swing.
