On 2002-11-18, Brian Bender rated this Hippo 370cc John Daily Driver a 5...(802)

Purchase: I purchased my HIPPO Giant Driver at Golf USA in North Carolina for $90. I needed a new driver because my old driver sadly had been played out and the shaft bent. I decided to get an entire new driver but I didn't want to pay a great deal of money.
Pros: I feel the 370cc HIPPO Giant Driver is one of the best driver's not only for it's value but across the price range as well. I was allowed to swing both the HIPPO driver and a Titleist Pro Titanium driver for $400 at Golf USA. After hitting range balls into a computer programed net, both drivers gave me the same results. It's got a nice feel, and my off-center shots fly better as a result to the large face and sweetspot. On the same course my friends and I play once a year, I try to get across the water on the same hole. For fifteen years I've lost a ball on that whole until this year when I tried the HIPPO!
Cons: I've had this driver for about six months now and it has maintained its shape and quality with the exception of one thing. The paint on the top has chipped in very small spots but is hardly noticable at arms length.
Quality: The HIPPO Driver has a Titanium Head that is light weight. It has a strong Power Flex graphite shaft that is regular flex, which isn't too whippy but enough bend and generate some power. The manufactured grip is comfortable and works well. The head is painted black with a gold center.

Review Summary: I feel the 370cc HIPPO Giant Driver is an excellent club. The club's quality and performance along with it's value has packaged together a very practicle club. I'm glad it's in my bag!
