Purchase: I us Alien clubs and I love them. I was having some trouble playing after losing a finger, and the smaller size of the driver was making it difficult to hit accurate T shots (though the Alien does well when you hit it right). I saw that John Daly was ahIPPO user, so I thought I would look for one online. I bought mine on Ebay for $36.00. I love it. My slice is getting better and I am hitting the ball more consistantly and farther. I finally hit a perfect shot the other day at a local course. I almost drove the green on a 311 par 4 hole. Straight down the fairway. I three putted for a 4 (apparently the hIPPO does not help my green play!
I strongly rccomend this driver to anyone who is in the market for one of the baby-head-on-a-garden-hose sticks. It is a safe bet and a sound investment. Pros: Well built, good looking, more fogiving than my girlfriend, the way they spell hIPPO. Cons: I love this club, though I was a little jealous the other day when I tried a Taylormade R540. It felt a little better, but my results were about the same (I think the hIPPO shafte is better than Taylormade). Quality: Solid. Review Summary: Try one, they are cheap on ebay.

Purchase: I wanted to start the 2003 golf season with confindence off the tee. My first step was purchasing a used Great Big Bertha from Ebay. Although it is a wonderful club, if my swing was a little too quick or off-center, the ball was slicing to next hole. I decided that 253cc was not enough for me, so I looked into a bigger club. I wanted to spend as little as possible while improving my game. I was looking at drivers on Ebay when I saw the Hippo. After reading a review of the Hippo Giant, I decided to purchase one. The clubs have a great price and I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. After some spirited bidding wars on Ebay, I won a brand new Hippo for $26. Pros: The club is lightweight, very forgiving, and makes a tremendous noise when hit properly. Much like the Bertha, if I swing too hard I slice the ball, but it doesn't matter with the Hippo. My first round that I used the driver, I was consistently hitting 260 with a very soft swing! The headcover and paint scheme also add a great look for the club. Cons: I have not played enough with the club to pass any bad judgements, it was worth $226. Quality: The construction of the club seems just as sound as my Big Bertha. The weight is distributed well, and the factory grip is excellent. The club came with the senior flex shaft, and even though I am not senior, it seems to work great. I would recommend keeping your hands and glove as dry as possible. Your confidence is greatly increased when you really feel like your hanging on to the club. Review Summary: Although I hear great things about the Cleveland Launcher, King Cobra, New Big Bertha, etc., I cant be bothered with those enormous price tags. If I can spend $26, swing like I am asleep, and get the ball out 260 yards, the Hippo is all I need. If you want to try a big driver, go on Ebay and pick one up. Hippo also makes a 500cc, which is probably very fun, but does not comply with USGA rules.

Went to the range yesterday to practice. Took the new 9.5* driver to test it out. I hit it a lot better than I figured I would with that factory insta
