On 2006-04-16, It\'s A Good Day To Golf rated this Inazone N-Red a 4...(6803)

Details: 34' shaft, red Golf Pride grips, interchangeable weights, singlr bend shaft.

Purchase: Recently, I traveled to Arizona on a golf vaction. When I arrived in Phoenix, the airline had mysteriously misplaced my Cameron Studio Design No.5 putter, even though it was in an enclosed carry case and none of the other clubs were missing. As a result, I decided to run down to a little golf shop near my motel and get a putter to hold me over until the airline replaced or found my Cameron. I putt left handed so my selection was very limited. Also, I didn't want to pay $150.00-$200.00 for a putter I didn't expect to use that long. My choice in LH was a $180.00 TaylorMade Monza Corza of the $45.00 Inazone N-Red. I liked both putters and considered throwing price out the window and getting the TaylorMade, but I prefered the mallet head of the N-Red which was closer to the shape of my Cameron and fit my eye better.
Pros: This putter is deadly! The ball comes off the face crisply and the roll is outstanding. In fact, I thought it rolled smoother than either the Monza Corza or my Cameron. By far,the strength of my game is putting. This putter rolls the ball so smooth it took me a while to get the feel and stop running the ball 3 feet past the hole. On medium to fast greens the putter is excellent. At 340g the head is heavy enough to allow for a short low and and smooth backswing and good acceleration down the target line. On slow greens(which I don't putt particularly well)it requires a longer stroke and is harder for me to keep on line outside of 15 feet, but the roll is so pure that if I miss the putt my next putt seems to be a 'give me'. This putter came with a red Golf Pride grip which has a nice tacky feel and is very comfortable.
Cons: This may be getting a little picky, but the putter comes with 2 weights(4g and 8.5g)and an allen wrench for changing them. I have tried both weight combinations an all sorts of greens and honestly cannot tell the difference between the two weights. So now, that leaves me with an allen wrench and extra weight to lose or have rattling around in my bag. Also, while I putt well with it,I would prefer a two or three line alignment guide or even a T alignment.
Quality: This is a very solid putter. And will last a life-time of normal use.

Review Summary: I have used this putter on hard, fast greens in Arizina as well as medium to medium fast greens in Wyoming, and slow crusty greens in Iowa. I really like this putter. So much, in fact, that once I get my Cameron replaced, I will probably only use it on slow greens since it seems a little lighter and easier to swing longer and harder. The rest of the time the N-Red will be in the bag without any hesitation. It's a $45.00 putter that perfoms as well,or better, than most $200.00 putters. I rate this a 4 only because I would like to see a different alignment system.
