On 2004-07-27, Jeremy Davis rated this Integra SoooLong 650cc Driver a 5...(3949)

Purchase: I came across the SooLong as I was researching new drivers. I got the Beast off eBay for the reasonable price of $80 matched to a True Temper Titanium stiff flex shaft.
Pros: I'm a 6'1, 200 lb golfer with a swing in the high 90s. I knew I needed a serious piece of equipment that could sustain my swing speeds and transmit those into length. As soon as I recieved it FedEx 1 week later, I was in love. Just the sheer size of it is enough to get attention from near-by tee boxes. I used to drive 275-280 consistently with my old driver. But the first round out with the SooLong just happened to be a scramble event in my work league. After blasting (and I mean blast. Drives fly off the face like they're shot out of a cannon) a small bag of range balls well over the 275 sign, I was ready. First tee was a dream moment. A 510 yard, par 5...the first "longest drive" hole of the event. With a gallery of about 20 co-workers, I step up to the tee with my new toy. Laughs and comments come from behind me, but I don't pay them any mind. I tee up (using the now neccessary 4" tees) to the crowds delight...go through my pre-shot address and waggle...and let go on a 330 yard bomb. I never thought a group of men could go silent so quickly. Nonetheless, I was the topic of conversation for the rest of the season and got a multitude of offers for teammates the following season.
Cons: The only drawback to the SooLong is the sound at contact. But this is still a small dislike, if it could be a dislike at all. I love crushing drives 20-30 yards past the rest of my group.
Quality: Everything seems to be top notch quality. I've played over 40 rounds with the driver since I purchased it and I wouldn't give it up for anything.

Review Summary: Regardless of the near comical sight of you pulling this club out of your bag, this is a neccessity. Adding 30+ yards to your drives and taking 5 strokes off your game (in my case) should be enough to sway anyone into saving the money to stay away from the main stream big drivers.
