On 2003-03-29, Mike rated this KZG ZO Forged Blades a 5...(1053)

Purchase: I purchased these irons from Flagstick Golf in Richmond, VA for $750. I got these because I was looking for a club with a lower more boring trajectory with little to no offset. I also was looking to get fit for my swing speed and height. I have constantly wondered if I had the correct shafts and lie on all my clubs. I love the look of these blades & also wanted to get my shafts "spined aligned".
Pros: I absolutely love the look of these clubs. I have never ever seen a better looking blade. My shafts are all TT DG X100 and are 3* upright & swing weight to D5. I finally feel comfortable over the ball knowing I have clubs fit for my swing. The irons are very true and precise. I love having zero offset in a blade. If you draw the ball, the zero offset will help correct it to a straighter shot. I think the overall playability is excellent. Solid shots are exact, mishits aren't bad either. I feel that mishits are just as good as my older DCI 962's.
Cons: These clubs are blades and do have a small sweet spot. If you constantly hit the ball close to the center of the club face, you will love these irons. If not, you might want to look elsewhere. As far as the blade itself, I wish I would have got the satin finish. These come in satin or chrome, and the chrome is almost to shiny with the sun. Besides that there isn't much else I don't like about these blades.
Quality: I was looking at all the top blades. Nike, Titleist, Mizuno, you name it. However I wanted to get fitted and that is when I saw these. I guess they are from the same foundry that Mizuno blades come from. These aren't knock off or imitation irons. These are the real deal. They are built very solid with no paint on the clubhead. It is very clean looking and solid. I truly am happy with the construction.

Review Summary: The bottom line, if you are looking for a blade with zero offset you must check these out. As happy as I am with the blades, I am just as happy with the fitting. You must get fit for clubs or they won't work properly for your swing. Shafts, spine matching, swing weight, grip size & lofts & lie. These are all personal preferences that will vary for all players. Regardless what clubs you have if they don't fit, they won't work.
