On 2004-08-20, NEF rated this Kasco K2K E-Spec Utility Woods a 5...(4103)
Purchase: eBay $79.00
Pros: Hit properly the ball explodes off of the face of all of the K2K E-spec models. The ball launches with an optimum trajectory and flies. Kasco basically innovated the entire iron-wood, hybrid, club in its modern format. The line offers a full range of lofts and distance from the 33 to the 99 which is effectively equivalent to a five iron in distance and a sand wedge in loft. Where the 33, 44 and 55 are easier to hit replacements for the 2, 3 and 4 irons from fairway or light rough, the higher lofted models are perfect off the tee on a longish par 3 giving both the distance to reach the green with the loft needed to drop and stop on the dance floor.
The secret to using any of the E-spec clubs is a smooth swing. Tempo brings out the best in the club, while a too-fast or over-swing will penalize without hope of parole. Relax and let the super-hyten face do the work. It will. Try to kill the shot or give it that little bit extra and you'll hit your next shot from somewhere other than the fairway of the hole you intended to play. Hit with a controlled swing and your playing partners will be asking to try out the club.
Cons: The relatively small head size and restricted sweet spot require consistent swings. The club is light and easy to get off the swing path or slightly turned and into a toe hit which will send the ball way away from the intended target line.
Quality: Kasco builds a first class club. Fit, finish and quality are all first rate. So is the price. It is probably one of the priciest clubs after the Japanese Honmas, but worth it if your serious about your game.
Review Summary: Look for the club on eBay or other auction sites. If you can maintain a controlled swing you will have a new favorite in your bag.
