On 2005-03-10, Nate Fry rated this Knight Fireline Clubs a 3...(5165)

Purchase: I purchased a set of Knight Fireline clubs at Mills Fleet Farm. They were on sale for $175, normally $199.99.
Pros: I liked the fact that they were fairly inexpensive for a begginer set of clubs.Besides that the set included a 7 wood along with a 1,3,5, 3-PW, and putter. The 7 wood was a nice addition when I first started because it was easier to hit than my 3 or 4 iron and was comparable in distance for me. One final item I liked was that all the shafts are graphite, which helped me as a beginner.
Cons: As I mentioned before the price was cheap, and the clubs reflect that. I've found the woods paint chips fairly easily. I chipped some paint off my 3 wood after I skied my ball off the top of the club on a tee shot. Also my 3 wood has a dent in the face that looks like it came from a tee, long and in a cylinder type shape, not something a rock would do. I have headcovers for my clubs so it wasn't from them banging into each other.
Quality: The construction and quality seem to be of average regard. I haven't had any problems with lose grips, lose heads, or broken shafts. The only issue I have with the quality is how easily it seems my 3 wood head is chipped, and dented. It's not like I use it every hole!

Review Summary: This is a great set for a beginner at a decent cost considering they are a "cookie cutter" set of clubs. Cookie cutter, meaning they are made for the average man with average height and average build. To truly get the most out of your game a custom set of clubs made specifically for your height, build and golf game is the only way to go. Within a year or two you'll be looking for a higher quailty set but as a beginning set they are perfect. The 7 wood that came with the set was of great use to me especially on par 3's. It filled the gap that not being able to consistently use my long irons made for a little over a year.
