Purchase: I sold my irons with the G3 grips and I had to build a new set, so I decided to try the Quarter Cords this time. Purchase them at Golfsmith on sale for $2.97 each.
Pros: I'm really happy with all the Lamkin grips I have used, and these are no different. You get a little more "hold" with the cord material than with the standard G3 grip.
Cons: I really like this grip, but I have to warn you about them. If you're cheap, you might not want to use them. They cost more than the G3 grip, but that's not the problem. The problem is you will notice a big increase in wear with your "glove". These grips are good, too good. They eat up gloves like crazy. They will wear out a glove twice as fast as a non cord grip.
Quality: Quality is first rate, as it is with all Lamkin grips I have used. I can see where this grip would come in handy if you live in a humid climate and rain is something you have to deal with on the course.

Review Summary: About 1/2 of tour pros use cord grips. The rest of them pay for their own gloves. If you have wanted to try a cord grip, this is a good one to start with. I really like the grip, but I'm not sure you get that much better holding power with the cord to make up for the way they eat up the glove. If you have trouble maintaining a consistant grip on your clubs, you should give this grip a try. Or if you play in an area with high humidity and moisture is a concern, try them out. But if you a doing fine with a non cord grip, don't eat up all your gloves for nothing. Anyone see any good sales on golf gloves lately?
