On 2004-07-07, Andy Heffner rated this LinksWalker Air Slot Driver a 5...(3845)

Purchase: Purchased at a chain golf retailer for $299
Pros: I saw this club advertsied on TV and was curious about the radical head design. I did find out that it DOES conform to USGA regulations and legal for tournament play. I wanted a 360cc (+/-) head on my driver as I've been disappointed in the performance of the large oversized driver heads (400cc+). I generate significant swing speed, and found the club moves easily through the air, and easy to square on impact. The head is coupled with a standard graphite shaft that I bought "stiff". The standard lenghth of 45" was very comforatable for my tall frame. Impressed with the quality and finish of the club, shaft, and Golf Pride long grip. The Air Slot is available in three different loft angles. I chose the mid range of 9.5 degrees, and pleased with my choice.
Cons: The only down side of this club was I found myself s-l-o-w-i-n-g my swing down, as to not swing "through" the ball, and lose some control. It does slice through the air effortlessly, and does take a bucket of balls at the driving range to become comfortable with,,,
Quality: As mentioned, the overall quality and construction is what you expect of a club of this caliber and co$t. I found the fit and finish to be equal to or superior to clubs costing more.

Review Summary: I highly recommend these clubs to anyone looking to increase their off the tee distance and control down the fairway,,,, that would be anyone, especially older golfers with slower, or reduced swings.
