Purchase: I have always loved the feel, look and sound of real persimmon. So when I heard about Louisville Golf's custom persimmon clubs, I ordered a left handed Smart 2 Fairway Finder driver. The club has a 12 and a half degree loft and it maximizes the gear effect persimmon is know for. I can mishit this club and watch the ball curve back into the fairway from a hook or slice. It is simply amazing! I get better feedback from this club than I do do from any of my metal woods and it has really improved my enjoyment of the game again.
Pros: All Louisville Golf's clubs are custom made to order and the fit and finish are superb. The persimmon grain make this one beautiful golf club. I love to hit it, to look at it and to fondle it. I also have three of their left handed niblick fairway woods, 3,5,7 and they are also superb golf clubs. This makes the most beautiful and sweet hitting set of woods I have had in 40 years.
Cons: Being persimmon, you must be sure they are cleaned between shots and not put away wet.After 10 or so rounds they are holding up just fine. I would not hesitate to recommend Louisville Golf products. They are the last of truly handmade persimmon clubs, but using modern design. You will like them.
Quality: Fit and finish are of the highest quality. Being custom made to my specs, they fit me perfectly. They are simply works of art and they play as good as they look.
