Purchase: I had been using a set of beginners irons for 6 months and never seemed to get any consistency or distance, so I searched e-bay and found these going for $150. I did a little bit of research and found they were considered to be a good game improvement iron, so I bought them. Pros: Everything! After a couple of rounds to get used to them I found I was hitting straighter, longer shots with a lot more control. They have greatly improved my confidence, to the point that my 5 and 7 wood now live in the closet! Cons: If I had to criticize anything about these clubs it would be the grips. They felt a little too firm and initially it needed a real effort not to grip the clubs too hard. I am going to replace them, which will cost about $25, so for $175 I have a set of irons that I really like. Quality: They look good, and more importantly they feel solid and well balanced. Review Summary: I consider these to be a bargain. They were listed as game improvement clubs, and they have lived up to that. Anybody who is looking for a new set of irons, particularly if you are looking to replace a set of beginners clubs, and you dont want to spend a small fortune, give these a try, you will not be disappointed. I would give them 5 out of 5 if the grips had been a bit softer!

Purchase: I bought these irons to replace a cheap set of zinc beginner's clubs. I've been playing for a little over a year now and pretty well wore out my old clubs. I had watching ebay for a good deal on some Clevelands or Cobras when I stumbled on these Lynx clubs going for ridiculously low prices. I tried to do some quick research on this model, but could not find any information. Lynx (owned by Golfsmith)is a good brand and the original Predator's recieved good reviews, so I decided to gamble on these and won the auction for $62.00. Normal retail for these at Golfsmith is $299.00. After having played these clubs for a few rounds I would be willing to pay $300 for them. Pros: Upon reciept I was very pleased with the clubs. The heads are oversized, but not too much so and they have a progressive offset. Also, the perimeter weighting of the clubs changes with each club. The 3 iron has a deep cavity with a lot of the weight low to help get the ball up in the air, while the pw has more weight behind the hitting zone to help work the ball and give a more solid feel.
The weighting scheme works. The 3 and 4 irons really get the ball up and going down range. Before these clubs I only used a 3 iron off a tee, now I actually get some use out the low irons.
These are marketed as game improvement irons and live up their stated goal. I can hit them way out on the toe of the club and ball still goes the right direction with some pretty good distance. Also, the weighting sceme really helps higher handicappers like myself get the most out of the low irons. I hit these about club longer (6 iron goes about 160)and much higher than my old zinc stinkers.
If you're looking for a mid-priced club in the same league as Tommy Armour or Top-Flite, give the Predator II's a look.
Cons: The lynx logo in the cavity is a bit goofy. A wild animal should look fierce, not like a shaggy housecat. Quality: Fit, finish and construction are all first rate. Top of the line clubs really aren't put toghether any better. The clubs are chrome plated, while I'm not a big fan of chrome, some are. Golfsmith customer service told me the club heads are made of cast 17-4 stainless steel. The shafts are true-temper the grips seem to be of reasonably good quality. Review Summary: Great quality for the price. I'm glad a took the gamble. The game improvement features incorporated in these clubs really help.
