On 2007-05-16, Bigpoppapuffandstuff rated this MacGregor MacTec NVG2 Draw 460 a 5...(7765)

Details: Color: dark blue Size: 460cc's Shaft: Fujikura Quadra Action, Regular Flex Loft: 11.5 degrees grip: MacGregor rubber composition cord

Purchase: I bought this beauty from Global Golf used for $125.00. It was advertised as being in 'excellent condition'...I'll say, it was freakin' spanking new!! Still in the shrink wrap!
Pros: This puppy is LOOOOOONG! It beat the Taylormade Burner 460 hands down....at least 15 yards further! It is the longest driver I have hit yet....and I have tried dozens. The Cup Face 360 technology on this club is not hype; I was hitting it all over the clubface trying to get used to it and the resulting distances were all very close to the same. The ball flight is penetrating with a slow steady climb...not a skyball arc. Also the sound on this is rock solid..not tinny or hollow at all. The best sounding driver I have ever tried (Cobra M series, Callaway FTi, Taylormade Draw and Burner, Tour Edge High Launch, Nike Sumo2 and Sasquatch...etc.)....it sounds better than any of them!
Cons: I wouldn't say I disliked anything but there were some things I needed to get used to. The head looks smallish...I had been playing the TM Burner 460 and the Nike Sasquatch and was accustomed and comforted by the 'football on a stick'. The face is not as wide as the TM or the Nike but the face was deeper, which I liked (I was using 2 3/4' tees for fear of skying the ball...Now I can change tee hieght to fit course conditions). Also, although this is the 'Draw' model...you can slice this just like any other driver. It will not cure a banana ball but it may keep it in play. I jsut adjusted my ball position forward until I was hitting it straight...two or three inch adjustment..Presto..no slice! The grip is very robust and I started wearing a glove on both hands because the grip too rough. You will not lose your grip on this club..I swear!!
Quality: First Rate! High tech on the bottom for the Pepsi generation and very traditional look for above for the old school farts. No complaints about fit or finish...I even skied the ball twice when I first took it to the range...and cleaned and buffed it with a towel...can't even see it.

Review Summary: o This driver is long and forgiving on miss hits..this cup face stuff is for real. o It looks and sounds great. o let these other yahoos spend 600 clams on square drivers..I got this baby for peanuts and couldn't be more pleased.
