On 2007-10-24, Mactech - Best Driver I\'ve ever had! rated this MacGregor Mactec NVG 435 a 5...(7938)

Details: Dark Blue head, Dark Blue shaft, 435cc head, 11.5 loft, Senior snr flex.

Purchase: Bought it to try and get some extra distance, as my swing speed had dropped due to some neck and back problems.
Pros: The most consistent, straightest and longest driver I've ever used. It looks good, sets up perfect for me, and the head is just the right size. I dislike those bulky 460 heads everyone else seems to like. This 435cc head however seems to be all sweet spot. I can't mishit it. No gimicks. Just a good honest club.
Cons: It sounds like an aluminum bat. But when you see the ball fly high and long, you get used to that sound really quick!
Quality: Surprisingly exceptional build and quality. Holds up very well against a lot of golf. I wax it up every now and then and it looks as almost as good now as it did when it was new.

Review Summary: MacGregor never has been a big name in golf, probably because they don't advertise. But I guarantee, if they were to somehow get the word out on this club, they'd outsell taylormade and callaway. Those clubs are good, but they're nothing more than the hype and gimmicks they come up with. No way, will I ever pay extra again for those over priced taylormade gimmicks that allow you to (attempt) to change the driver to match your swing instead of developing a good strong swing - one that you can use with ALL your clubs, not just the driver! It might work with the pros, but it certainly won't work for me and the average golfer.

Tour players forced to mingle ... and don't like it - I’ve said this before and probably will say it many, many more times.

In a lot of ways, I respect professional golfers much more than a lot of other athletes in the “play for pay” business. A...(Click Headline For More!)
