Purchase: Acquired on eBay (new) for around $300. I previously owned a set of I3 knockoffs, and had recently tried the Nike Combos. I wanted to go to a combo (blade short - cavity long) type set, because I was getting very accurate with my cleveland 52 blade and felt I could translate that to some longer irons. I also tried the Hogans combos, but they seemed very toe-heavy to me.
Pros: These clubs have muscle/blades in the 7-w and muscle/cavities in the 3-6. They are incredibly sweet on a clean shot. They are forged, and it's a cliche, but it feels like butter. The ball just explodes of the clubface. They are far more accurate than my previous I3 knockoffs, and they are much more forgiving and easier to get airborne than the Nike Pro Combos. The flighted rifle (which comes STOCK in the Macs!), as opposed to the regular rifle in the Nikes, seems to make a big difference in the long irons. I LOVE THESE LONG IRONS. I have a brand new Hogan hybrid that I am selling. Don't need it. I can now hit my 3-iron a solid 205, and accurately.
Cons: The grips originally bothered me. They seemed to be like the cheap, slick, non-corded grips that come with so many clubs (i.e...taylor, nike). But I've found them ok after using them. I will eventually change to cords, but I'm not sure I want to mess with the swingweight since cords are slightly heavier. At address these look like clean blades, WITH THE EXCEPTION of the 3-6, where the clubhead mass BEHIND the blade is somewhat visible. This is the same with the Nikes, and takes a little getting used to, but it's much less of a visual adjustment than say, the massive offset on a Ping. These clubs tend to rattle you a little on a very thin shot. But I tend to hit thin too often, so for me that's feedback I need. But toe and heel shots still feel fairly solid, and you don't lose much distance.
Quality: These are well built clubs. My pro had said I needed to upgrade my irons ("they certainly aren't HELPING you"). When I told him I tried the Nikes he winced, but when I mentioned MacGregor he shook his head in approval. It's rare to get a RP flighted rifle shaft in a stock club. I was pre-measured at 5.0 rifle, so I knew these were right for me.

Review Summary: If you're a medium handicap golfer looking for a combo type forged set to improve your game (and don't want to spend $800 for Mizunos), then look no further. The MacGregor 1025cm is the best deal out there, especially with the recent price drop. They are accurate, forgiving (even the blades) and allow you to shape shots easily. They tend to favor a slight fade imo, or maybe that's only compared to the Ping knockoffs which with their huge offset, made me sharply hook everything below an 8 iron. I LOVE the trajectory I get from these.

Purchase: I traded in a brand new set of the Cleveland TA6 irons and got these plus a store credit of $50.00 They were on clearance for $399.99 WOW! that is a big difference from their original price of $899.
Pros: I have tried just about every iron out there today and I must say these are by far the most accurate and easiest to hit. Prior to these irons I was playing the Mizuno MX-20 and I thought they were the best until I got the 1025cm's in my hands. I really love that thin top line, not bulky like the majority of the game improvement irons today. I am hitting 90% of my greens in regulation up from about 75%. I am also using my fairway woods less due to the accuracy and ease of hitting the long irons. I can shape shots (high, low, fade & draw) with no problems. Beautiful crafted club. The only thing close to it is the Ben Hogan CFT and they are $599.99
Cons: Just the grips. At the original price of $899 they should have had corded grips. I changed mine to the Winn v-17. Awesome feel.
Quality: The craftmanship of these clubs are outstanding! The chrome finish keeps the irons looking new for many rounds. They are very durable unlike other forged clubs. They do not ding up easily. I have played 6 rounds with these and A guy in my group asked me I had just bought the irons today because they looked brand new. They also come with RIFLE TOUR FLIGHTED SHAFTS AT NO EXTRA COST. Try to get that from the "big name guys" I call the the big price guys. They sell inferior products because they know that people will buy their clubs just for name recognition. The people who wrote the bad reviews about the clubs must work for other club manufactures and the are trying to trash the MacGregor name. A TOUR FLIGHTED RIFLE SHAFT comes from RIFLE not MacGregor. How could it be trash? Go check these out at the stores for yourself or better yet ask the store sales reps. they will tell you how awesome these clubs are.

Review Summary: BUY THESE IRONS!! They are on end of year clearance everywhere! You can get the 1025cm's or the 1025M on Ebay for $297.00 plus shipping. I am going to buy me an extra set of the 1025M for the future. Itis just to good of a deal to pass up.I have bought the M38 driver & the MacGregor Staff Bag, and the V-foil M5K putter. All are just as awesome.

Purchase: I am an avid golfer and am embarassed to say that given my high level of interest, I was still swinging some off the rack Callaway X12s until finally getting a crowbar to my wallet and purchasing the Macgregor 1025cms. The decision was made after some lengthy on line research. I bought two custom fit sets -one for my brother for x-mas- for a total of $1050.00.
Pros: The craftsmanship appears to be excellent. The sharp traditional look, the feel and the way they set up inspire confidence. Especially good feedback on the 7 thru SW.The 4-6 produce a higher ball flight than I had with my "Iron Age" X-12s.
Cons: I had an initial problem with a bit too much of a draw. Seemed to have worked it out after some time on the range.
Quality: Construction and quality are top notch.

Review Summary: I had never played forged or blades before. I feel at this point that my concentration level has improved due to the top line look and I am becoming a better ball striker. When hit in the middle I see a litle more distance. I am an average length hitter - can play the tips at most courses- but the feel with these Macgregors is the best I've ever had. I am a 7 HC and the feedback I get from these clubs leads me to believe I can be a bit more precise in my play and maybe give myself some shorter makeable putts.

Purchase: Purchased these irons at Temecula Valley Golf shop for 700 dollars. Clubs were recommended by owner of said shop. Custom ordered with Rifle 6.5 shafts due to high swing speed. Received clubs in about 3 weeks.
Pros: These are good looking clubs, and the feel is pretty good on good shots. Finish doesn't hold up all that well. Looks like I have had them longer than 3 months.
Cons: The first time I took these clubs to the range the head snapped off of the 8 iron. The shaft broke right at the hosle. I had to stop all the golfers temporarily so that I could retrieve the head. After this I was afraid to hit the rest of the irons.
Quality: I have been playing golf for a long time now, and have never broken an x-tra stiff steel shaft before. Do not know wether this was a fluke or not, but I still have reservations about these clubs.

Review Summary: I took the broken club back to the golf shop the same day that it broke. It has been two months now, and I still do not have the replacement. It appears to me that MacGregor is not interested in service after the sale. I can not recommend these clubs to anyone based on my experience. I will probably never again purchase MacGregor products, and may return these.

Purchase: I bought the 3-PW set with standard lie and length and the 6.0 stiff steel shafts at my local golf shop for $525. I wanted to get a set of irons that would allow me to hit lower approach shots than my old set of X-14s (which I tended to hit very high- a problem on my fairly breezy home course). I did a lot of internet research and was most interested in the Hogan Apex Edge, Mizuno MX-20, Nike combo set, and the Macgregors. Only one pro shop in my area carried the Macs so I went in to see them. I liked the way they looked and felt and so I bought them after only hitting them into a net because of the deal I was offered at the golf shop.
Pros: I liked the idea of the cavity-back long irons and muscle-back short irons. I also liked the "new" Macgregor philosophy (and I wanted clubs that not everyone else has). I have been able to lower my ball flight on the short irons and have not lost any distance compared to the X-14s. I still hit the longer irons as high. What has surprised me is the feedback. I didn't think that I would be able to tell any difference between a forged club and my old cast clubs (I am 13 hcp) but it is pretty amazing how good a well struck ball feels with these clubs. Off-center hits are penalized by distance but not direction. I seem to draw the ball more with these clubs, particularly the long irons. I really like the way they look in the bag and at set-up.
Cons: No dislikes. A lot of people ask me about them.
Quality: I have had no problems after about 15 rounds. The clubs seem to be of very high quality and the "new" Macgregor markets itself as being very committed to quality.

Review Summary: I love the look and performance of these clubs. I think that some people may be intimidated by the muscle-back short irons but I have noticed no loss of forgiveness compared to my old cast cavity-back clubs and the directional and length control is superior. I really like the feel of these clubs and the sensation of a well-struck shot is intoxicating.
