Purchase: I was looking during 2002 for a brand new forged set and this seems to be ok for me (hcp 18). I bought it around 640 euros with steel shafts, in France, in a discount shop.
Pros: I felt in love with the appearance of that set. Really good looking! Nice sensation in front of the ball. And of course, a smooth feeling when you hit the ball. Also a quite good tolerance with wrong shots...
Cons: First, my set now looks older than it's really : after one and a half year, many heads are full of little shocks, the steel used by mc gregor is really receptive to any little hit you give to it... Second, all the lovely little plastic nuts near the hosel go out of place, I asked 3 times to my dealer to glue them back, one has even broken! Third, the original gripsreally don't like rainy conditions, see what I mean?...
Quality: Forged irons / nice touch / nice looking It's allright for a good golf course, but how long?

Review Summary: I'll never buy mac gregor again, and I've been told by some of my friends about similar problems, and much more (like heads thrown away...)
