On 2005-03-25, Dan rated this Maltby CT250 Carbon Titanium 9.5 a 2...(5258)

Purchase: ordered of golfworks.com for $130 (US) with shaft(free matching). Just for something new; I had a T-Made R510 but got bored with it.
Pros: small for 450 c.c., size doesn't bother me, real forgiving face size, looks awesome with graphite crown. not a bad price, compared to brand names pre-assembled.
Cons: they supposidly offer a 9.5 with square face, the 10.5 is supposed to have a .5 closed face. i would have gone with the 10.5 if not for the closed face... When i got my club delivered it was clearly marked- 9.6 loft, f.a.(face angle)-.9H, lie 57.6, weight 201?(slightly illegible) well... IT WAS SUPPOSED to have 9.5 loft(only .1 off), SQUARE F.A.(NOT .9 DEGREES HOOKED?!?!thats almost twice what the 10.5 is supposed to be.) 57.5 lie angle(only .1 off) and weight is only 1-2 grams off. for 1 thing when I assembled and started using it, I didnt even know what the (poorly written) f.a.-.9h meant, had I, i probably would have asked for refund or exchange; but I did order a SQUARE faced club. with all that being said, im fighting a horrible hook(can't even get ball in air, snapping it so bad.) Although it was a FREE shaft theres no way id consider it "stiff" more like regular to ladies even. I put diff. shaft in. Put some lead on toe, and its working allright, but golfworks has really let me down with my FIRST club purchase.
Quality: looks good but; they must have no consistancy in their manufacturing process. (A WHOLE DEGREE OFF SQUARE?!?!) havn't asked for refund. MY taylormade; although not advertised; seemed to be square maybe .1-2 degrees open; maybe the higher price tag is worth it afterall.

Review Summary: disapointed. unacceptable inconsistancy. salesperson also chastized me for ordering what was advertised(free shaft with purchase); he said- THATS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THERE! never will order another club from them as of now Advice for all- try it, 'for u buy it
