Maltby PV82 Golf Drivers - Reviews

Purchase: After much trial and error with some of the newer larger head drivers, both component and OEM, I thought back to when I was more consistent off the tee and realized that at that time the drivers I used had much smaller heads. I hated to give up the added distance the new heads offer so I decided to see what I could come up with as a compromise. I found Gofworks clearing out the PV82, 300cc heads for $29.95 so I got a 10.5 one. I installed a Harrison FL 3.5 for it's lower kick point, $40.00, I used this because the center of gravity on this head will not be as far back as in the larger heads. I am hitting this as far if not farther than anything else I have tried and with a good bit better control, guess with the great big heads I just swing way too hard.
Pros: It feels really good on contact is pretty forgiving and with this loft and shaft choice plenty long. Also with all parts included I have under $70.00 in this driver and am holding my own distance wise with some of the folks I play with and their $300 to $400 drivers.
Cons: THe only thing I don't like is the fact that it is a head that is being fazed out. I ordered a backup in case anything goes wrong with the one I have.
Quality: This is a very well made driver, head the finish and quality are both very good and Harrison makes quality shafts.

Review Summary: For the money this is a really good driver just because it's 150cc smaller than some out there means nothing. If you make good swing I feel it can hold it's own against just about anything and right now its just plain cheap!
