Purchase: I purchased the set of 3-PW through Golfworks for $9.95. I shafted them with Precision Lite Stiff shafts on sale for $3.35 each. I gripped them with Lampkin Perma Wraps for $1.80 each. So about $120 bucks or so. I was captivated by their looks and interested in seeing why they ranked so high on the Maltby Playability Factor. Pros: These irons look very very cool. Very modern looking but not too much going on to make the club look tacky. These clubs are the most forgiving irons that I have ever encountered. They make my TM 320's seem like forged muscle back blades. They feel like butter. I bought these set as an experimental but I can't find a reason to let go of them. Maltby has some crazy design ideas, but at the same time, clubs like these validate everything Golfworks does. Wow. Cons: I tried thinking of something. Ah ha! It's tough to work the ball from left to right (righty). Not that I'd really expect to be able to with an iron this forgiving, but that's the only thing I could think of. Quality: High quality 431 Stainless Steel with an undercut cavity shifting weight to the perimiter. Fairly thin topline gives it a classic look at address. Beautiful looking irons http://www.golfworks.com/item_disp.asp?pn=1225
Review Summary: I highly recommend these. To pit these against my TM 320's, the 851 UM's look way hotter, and are 10 times as forgiving. The suggested Retail Price assembled is around $450.00. They would be worth $700.00 or $800.00 in my book.

Purchase: Bought online from Golfworks/Malby's clubmaking site for $9.95 per head. Put lightweight regular flex shafts on them for $3.50 each. Wanted a good set of irons for cheap so I read a bunch online and did it myself. Pros: Instant response. Feels like butter when hit good with a nice soft sound. Off center hits feel like normal clubs and still go real straight. Only bad shots give you a rattle as you deserve. Upgraded from Wilson muscle backs with True Temper steel shafts. It is not a fair fight. I get an extra club length of distance per iron, more accurracy and better feel. I get a better, higher trajectory onto the greens with a lot less roll. Cons: Nothing. Quality: Nice appearance with a great polished look. 431 stainless construction with long blade, undercut muscle back and short hosel to lower the center of gravity, be more forgiving and get the ball up quickly. Review Summary: Great clubs, better than even my lofty hopes. Great technical articles and forums online at the different sites made it easy to put them together. Maltby's playability factor, their online clubfitting system and attention to detail made it easy and affordable to do.

Went to the range yesterday to practice. Took the new 9.5* driver to test it out. I hit it a lot better than I figured I would with that factory insta
