On 2009-05-01, Jon Baldwin rated this Maltby KE4 V a 5...(8350)

Details: Custom-Fitted, KE4 4-SW

Purchase: Golf Galaxy built these clubs to my specs (length and lie adjusted to fit my body and swing). I originally went in to buy a name brand set, and hit quite a few brands before settling with Maltby. They hit just as well as the name-brand clubs I tried - but for half the price.
Pros: Solid look and feel to the irons. I like a straight ball, and that's what this club delivers. Very forgiving.
Cons: The added control limits distance - Approx 5 yards shorter than other brands.
Quality: Steel shafts and chrome finish.

Review Summary: I could not be happier with these clubs. I paid half the price of a name-brand set, and I am hitting it better than ever. Could you ask for more?

On 2008-03-25, Flamio rated this Maltby KE4 V a 5...(8049)

Details: Black red and silver finsihed head. Pro Black Lite shaft +1 1/2, 9 iron, Stiff Flex, 2 Degrees up.

Purchase: Golf Galaxy for around $40.
Pros: Very Forgiving. It has a vibration dampner which is new for 2008. Looks good and hits well on off center hits. Very solid feel. Sets up very nicely. Wide sole adds confidence. I like the weighted head, similar to Taylor Mades cgb max.
Cons: Nothing yet.
Quality: Weighter head. Polymer insert inside the undercut cavity dampens vibrations on contact. Wide sole provides added low weight which helps trajectory. Manufactured from double heat treated 431 stainless steel for forged like feel. M-grooves for spin control. Bead blasted top- line to reduce glare.

Review Summary: I've only had this on a simulator, but the feel, solid hits, and straight shots have me won over already. It gives me the control and distance I was looking for. I only needed a 9 iron, but I may finish the set instead. Very impressed so far. GET FIT if ou haven't. Having the right lie and length make all the difference in the world, no matter what irons you buy.
