Purchase: Paid $15.00 a dozen last year for logo over-runs with a nice little American flag on each ball. They were on sale at Galyan's, now Dick's sporting goods. I am always on the lookput for tour quality balls at a good price. Just got a catalog from Edmond Watts, the price is now $18.00 a dozen. Two for $32.00 Pros: This is the best golf ball I have ever played, in terms of resistance to scuffing. My irons have quite sharp grooves and I routinely tear off pieces of the cover with the short irons, 8 iron on down. With the M3 Tour, this is not a problem. I have played 27 holes with one ball and it's still in service. Even hit 2 cart paths and one tree. Only 2 small marks from the cart path, neither of which is much to talk about. I do more damage to other balls with one full swing of my 9 iron. Distance and feel around the greens is on par with other tour quality balls. Because the golf courses at this time of year are so dry, I can't really tell you how the ball is in terms of holding the green. Nothing holds the green right now. Can't hold the green with a PW from 135 yards, so that tells me nothing will hold. Didn't even find a ball mark on the green after that shot, that's dry and hard for you. The ball has a nice soft feel off the wedges on approach shots, and it has good feel off the putter. Chip shots feel soft too. Cons: My only complaint is that the ball is out of production. That and I couldn't test it for green holding power because of the dry hard green this time of year. Quality: The M3 Tour and M3 TourLT are both three piece balls with a tough urethane cover. Any ball that doesn't scuff when I hit it with a full swing of a short iron or wedge, is one durable golf ball. And this ball is the most durable I have found. Review Summary: If you are in the market for a tour quality ball at a good price, try the M3 Tour. There is the M3 Tour and the M3 Tour LT. The LT will provide you with more spin with the short irons for green holding power. It also has a low trajectory dimple pattern to keep the ball from ballooning on you off the tee with your driver. If you like a ball that stops where it lands, get the M3 Tour. If you like a ball that will back up on the green, get the M3 Tour LT. You won't find a better golf ball anywhere for the price. In fact, I doubt you could find a ball that is much better at any price. Try a box of each and see which one fits your style of playing.

Purchase: Found on sale for $14.99/dz. at Galyan's in Buford, GA. I've always liked Maxfli, so at this price, couldn't afford not to try it. Pros: Very good ball. I would equate it the same as a ProV1 (although not as good as a ProV1x). Good workability, flies long and true. Does not scuff as quickly as a ProV1x, either. Cons: It isn't as good as the ProV1x, although every bit as good as the ProV1. I purchased them because they were on a deep-discount sale. Original prices were in the $40 range, which is just too much for any golf ball. Quality: good quality. cover lasts pretty well (I usually lose it before it becomes uplayable). Review Summary: excellent ball, especially when it went on sale as it did. On 2004-01-12, Kevin Fetherston rated this Maxfli M3 Tour a 4...(2655)
Purchase: Purchased at sleeve at the turn at my home course in October. Paid too much for the sleeve at the course, but have since purchased for 29.99 / dozen at The Golf Warehouse.com Pros: It stops on the green and promotes a boring flight off the tee and irons which is the ball flight I personally prefer.
I have played Pro V1 and all of its improved versions, but for me they spin too much off of short iron and wedge shots. My game is such that I like a ball to stop where it lands on the green from higher decents.
The M3 is also a very workable ball from both left to right and vice versa. Distance is fine, no noticeable distance gain or loss from any other quality ball i have hit.
To me control is the key from this ball!!!
Cons: Well being a Maxfli fan i dont like the fact tthat this ball will be replaced before long. As with the Revolution, when i find one i like and get comfortable with its gone soon after. Quality: Urethane cover, solid core gof ball.
Excellent quality, performs great. Review Summary: The M3 Tour is as good as any ball on the market including the Pro V1 (*,x, whatever).
Not a flashy improvement type ball in the sense that no huge gain in distance, no 15 foot back spins on greens etc. This ball is for someone that is a shot maker and expects a golf ball do what is expected out of each shot and nothing more.
Control, consistency, dependability. Thats what to expect from the M3.
