On 2007-05-28, Rockguy rated this Maxfli A10 a 4...(7779)

Details: 9.5 loft, S-flex, Winn grip, transfer system

Purchase: Bought the Maxfli A10 driver at Dick's Sporting Goods for 70 dollars.
Pros: I have never hit the ball as far as I do with this club. I have used other people new fancy drivers and I still get more distance. Right before the shaft broke (see below) I hit the drive of my life. I measured it out to 348 yards. With my old driver, I was lucky if I was pushing 280. With this one I am consistently around 300 or better. Even thought it is an aforementioned 'volkswagen on a stick' (460cc), when you set up with it, it does not appear huge at all. At address it is pleasing to the eye and probably why I hit it off immediately with this club.
Cons: The shaft broke on me in about two months, or in about 15 rounds. I was very displeased because it occurred during normal play. I feel like it should have not done that. I know people who get years out of their Wal-Mart specials and I can only get 15 rounds out of something from a major manufacturer? Although I love the club and I will be replacing the shaft (with something better!), it is disconcerting when you buy a new club and it craps the bed on you in such a short amount of time. At first I was pleased by Maxfli's shaft selection, because I have heard great reviews on the Harrison line of shafts, but I noticed that the shaft on the A10 is only made for the A10, it is not available from the company alone. They have the Striper Tour, but not a 'normal' Striper which comes with the A10. Probably a cheap replacement. Well, I will be putting on a Striper Tour in its stead and hopefully be munching the ball off the tee again.
Quality: The club head is beautifully designed and sets up well. At address it is pleasing to the eye, making for better drives I believe, because you do not second guess yourself. The shaft is crap, if you are going to pay the low price for the driver, it will be worth it to immediately take the stock shaft off and replace it with something different, because the club head is worth every penny.

Review Summary: Buy the club for the clubhead not the whole thing. Because it is really inexpensive, you can afford the driver and a new quality re-shaft for still hundreds less than one of those funky drivers (Square? Come on...) for $500 dollars.

On 2007-05-14, Charlie Miller rated this Maxfli A10 a 5...(7754)

Details: Red regular shaft, Pearl blue head, hybrid 3 and 4 iron. These were just what I was looking for.

Purchase: I bought them at a place called Replay Sports in Groton Connecticut for $188 plus tax. What a deal. Two woods, 1 and 3, two hybrids equivalent to a 3 and 4 iron, and irons from 5 to wedge. I just happen to stop in there while my girlfriend was waiting for her daughter to get a haircut at a nearby salon.
Pros: Everything. price , look, and results.
Cons: Nothing
Quality: I have used regular shafts before but this one seems to match up with my swing the best. Straight down the middle almost every time.

Review Summary: I would strongly recommend these clubs to anyone. You don't have to spend megabucks to get results in your golf game. Sometimes its just being in the right place at the right time to find something that will improve your game.
