On 2006-07-30, Ron F. rated this Maxfli Blue Max a 3...(7316)

Details: Regular Flex Graphite, 10.5 loft

Purchase: I purchased this club from www.tgw.com mostly because of the price ($89.88). I've only been playing for about 2 months and needed a driver that wouldn't break the bank.
Pros: The oversized head is greta for someone who is just starting to play the game. It has a large sweet spot and it sounds great off the tee, which is confidence-building. The price tag of about $90 was nice.
Cons: Distance. I found that I averaged a little less than 200 yards with it. A first attempt with the Ping G5 was around 220-230. I also found that I can hit a Nike CPR Hybrid (21 loft) 200 yards.
Quality: I haven't had any problems with the construction. Though mishits off of turf tees sometimes yields a large, visible spark.

Review Summary: If you're on a budget, this may be a good starter club. However, I recommend going with something that has some more distance. I think that there is a reason why this driver is so inexpensive.
