On 2006-02-28, LuckyMate rated this Maxfli Maxfli A10 Tour Limited a 5...(6690)

Details: TT S300 shaft, 2-SW.

Purchase: Purchased branch new on Ebay, uncut and ungripped. Later had them tailor made for my specs by a professional club maker.
Pros: Apart from their great looks, these irons set up well at address with a thin top line perfectly sized blade and simply ooze confidence from the outset. With the S300 shaft they provide great balance throught the swing, are perfectly weighted and the feeling as you watch the blade strike the back of ball is something else. Although the 2 - 7 Iron are cavity backs they provide me with generous forgiveness on shots I occasionally hit towards the toe. Well timed shots simply bore to the target with perfect trajectory. The real gems in this set are the 8-PW, traditional blades with exceptional feel and accuracy unmatched by any club I have used in the past twenty five years. Overall these clubs are absolutely magificient. If you are a confident ball strikler and are looking for a combo set you will not find a better iron than these. The real challenge is to find a used set someone is willing to part with and a greater challenge is to find a brand new set. They are brilliant.
Cons: The only adjustment I had to make was getting used to the stronger lofts, that took about 50 balls on the range. Sorry that's it, I can't fault them.
Quality: I love the chrome/nickel construnction, the narrow sole and thin top line. The heads are slighty smaller than a mid size CB giving excellent manouvrebility right, left, and knock down. Great craftsmanship

Review Summary: To cut a long story short these irons are without a shadow of doubt these were the best irons on the market at the time of their release and I can confidently say are still the best irons available today, if you can find a set. Adidas/Taylor Made - shelve your RAC LT's and tour cavities, re manufacture these gems with the same specs and quality and you won't be able to keep up with the demand. You don't need that advice as many others have given it before me.
