Details: Project X 6.0

Purchase: I got these great clubs off Ebay for 650 good deal with the custom shafts i got in them.
Pros: I like everything the feel is just amazing and I mean amazing the shafts produce a high trajectroy that then flatens out with is perfect and I mean perfect. If you hit it on the sweet spot you won't be dissapointed with the result.
Cons: Well it came with Golf Pride tOUR Velvet Cord grips and they wear extremely quickly and i mean quickly. Everyone says how forgiving this club is... thats bull its just like any other blade I have mp33 too they also seem to wear really fast but i do play a lot i'm already getting slight amount of rusting just after 20 rounds and a lot of balls on the range.
Quality: well besides the grips a+

Review Summary: Well if your a crappy 10 handi cap and suck these clubs aren't for you I would deffinitly reccommend being like sub 5 at least you have to have a consitant swing to hit the ball on the sweet spot everytime they don't go on thin shots anyway if you suck don't get these i mean if you have any doubt go with some gave improvement clubs.

Details: Irons fitted with 5.0 rifle shafts and Black Ox 52 and 56 degree wedges. 3 to PW and Black Ox wedges.

Purchase: Purchased Mizuno MP 32's 3 - PW with rifle shafts for US$800 and Black Ox 52 and 56 degree wedges for US$100 each.
Pros: For a number of months, I’ve been checking reviews and specifications of forged blade clubs versus cavity backs with a view to changing to blades. I have been using Callaway Big Bertha irons and woods for the last two years since taking up golf about three years ago. I love the Callaway fairway woods. I very rarely hit a driver off the tee as I can carry the 3 wood 265 to 285 yards off the tee and the driver only gets me 15 yards more with a loss of accuracy. What has frustrated me is that I’ve stagnated on a 16 or 17 handicap for the last goodness knows how long. I’ve read golf instruction manuals, dozens of magazines, tried to change my swing, used different balls, bought hybrid clubs, had plenty of beer before going on the course, played stone cold sober and nothing seemed to work at getting my game and handicap to improve. Golf Digest says that the muscle-back blades might still have a place for pros, but that’s about it. Since I had tried everything else, I thought that forged blades might be the answer. After reading loads of reviews, I settled on the Mizuno MP 32’s. I bought the 3 to PW with 5.0 rifle shafts and the Black Ox 52 and 56 degree wedges after getting permission from she who must be obeyed. On March 1st, I was playing off a handicap of 17.1 exactly the same as my regular playing partner. After two sessions on the practice range, two 9-hole rounds and six 18-hole rounds, my handicap is now 13.3. His is still the same. How the Mizuno MP32’s are not classified as game improvement irons I do not know. I am using the irons off the tee on half the holes, hitting fairways and hitting more greens in regulation than ever before. My putting is the same, just my scores are lower. For shots inside 100 yards, the black ox wedges are amazing. The greens on our local course are hard as a rock and it’s very difficult to stop the ball on them. These wedges produce far more backspin that anything else I’ve tried.
Cons: They don't fit in the bed with my wife and cat.
Quality: On the Clubs: • The leading edge is not too sharp that the irons will dig in and the do take a really nice shallow divot. They are perfect for just about all grass types and lies. • The cut muscle design gives a wider sole, but not so wide that the club bounces. • The sweet spot is plenty big enough and off centre hits produce less distance but still essentially straight shots • I have not experienced any loss of distance over the Callaway BB irons but produced far more accuracy and stopping power. • The rifle shafts are just great • Shaping shots left to right, vice versa, hitting high medium or low trajectory shots are easily achieved by adjusting stance, etc. • The look and feel of the clubs when you line up makes you think that you’re going to hit a good shot straight away. The confidence level is high and this has the effect of carrying through to driving and putting. • You do have to be more careful about your setup. A bad setup, stance or grip will produce a bad shot. This is what I mean about game improvement irons, they force you to do things right, or you will suffer.

Review Summary: In conclusion, there is nothing that I don’t like about the Mizuno MP 32’s. You just want to play them all the time and the only problem is being able to slip away from work.

Purchase: Bought on line traded in old set after hitting these
Pros: solid feel and ball flight. feels like no effort at all when hitting the ball. I have been through 4 other brands and two sets of Mizuno's the 19's I thought were great. Not compared to the 32's There just flat out SWEET. Have to keep my eyes on them as my playing partner keeps "borrowing" them, but to cheap to buy his own. Why are Mizunos such a secret? IF more players tried them some companies may be out of business.
Cons: Whats not to like? There Tony the Tiger - GREAT
Quality: Excellent. Only knock I could give is that some of swing weights on the set were off Some D2,D3 and D4. A little lead tape took care of that.

Review Summary: Best clubs I have ever used. Longer, feels better and clubs look great as well. Best kept secret in irons. Dont tell your friends, they may get a set as well, and you will loose your advantage.

Purchase: Got it off ebay 4-PW S300 for $490.
Pros: I'm not like most of the scratch golfers who have this set. I was golfing in the 110's last year. This year I decided that this was my game and I've had my nose to the grind stone since February. I started out the season in the mid to high 90's and have been in the 80's for the most part this past month. I got the MP 32's two days ago. Took them out for the first time yesterday. Hit two buckets of balls at a range and then went out and hit an 88 on a course I've never golfed before. Yes, the long irons are shorter than my TA5's, but the short irons are straighter and accurate if hit well and for me, monster hooks if not. I got this after about a month of researching and demo's. My golfing buddies informed me that my game probably won't improve hitting cavity's like the TA5's. I think they are right. These clubs force me to consentrate. When you hit that sweet spot, it just feels great. On a cast cavity back, most of my shots felt the same-not until I looked up could I tell what I'd done. Not like this with these. You can tell the shot before you look up.
Cons: Forged clubs seem soft, bag bang may dull what is a beautiful club.
Quality: Like I said, they are great looking. Simple. I love them.

Review Summary: These clubs will get me to my first 70's game by the fall. There is something about hitting blades that seems to instill confidence. That's just the way it is. Don't be spooked by those who say you must be in the 70's or better to hit these babies. After all, we all want a better game, and at worst, these clubs will force you there.

Purchase: I got these from Second Swing in Burnsville for about $700 bones. I got the 4-PW (no one needs a 3 iron any more!!) with Rifle Flighted 5.0's. Got them standard length, 1* up. Also with the golf pride dual durometer grips. Try em!! Traded in my excellent TA7 Tours for them. Have had rotating sets for the past 4 years. X-12's, TA7, TA2, 704CB (nice), LT's, TA7Tours (treated me great) and have tried many others during demo days.
Pros: These babies look awesome! I love the sleek profile, very traditional and very easy to line up. If you like the look of a classic blade, with the technology upgrade, these may be the ones. These clubs feel great when struck right. I will say that they are blades, and I have had them for a few weeks now, and I am just now getting used to them. I had to come to grips that I wasnt the power player I hoped to be, and found out I am more of a feel player, so I wanted some forged clubs to get me that feel. I thought I was set on the MP30's, but I wasnt able to demo those outside. They talked me into the 32's and I went to the range with the demos with s300's in them. I ususally play a reg shaft, so I thought it would be really telling to me if I could hit these. I thought it was too much club. Ultimately, they may well be that, but it will improve the swing a ton. The ball flight is higher than the TA7 Tours in the long irons, mid irons and short ones. Easy to knock down, which is what I was really after. I am not one to work it right to left, normal ball flight is a high fade, but I now can draw it if need be into that wind, and can knock things down. I found that as long as I dont throttle these things, the result is great. If you miss, it can turn out ugly or short, but if you are consistent with your stiking, these are great. Just enough offset for me. Actually a bit more than the TA7 Tours. Feel great, and with the rifles, dont punish too much on mis hits. First couple of days at the range and my second round out on the course, I thought, what did I just do? (Fired a 74 with the TA7 Tours on my last round...kind of like a jilted lover after that!!). But now, I have had a few more times at the range, figured out how I need to set up for my swing, and they are working great. last couple of rounds: 79-80-89(no putting, no chipping!!!)-77-77. Not bad. Not getting me in too much trouble. Lots of confidence in short irons. Very accurate. no loss of distance vs TA7 Tours. Like the way they can glide through the rough. Took a 5 iron out of heavy uphill lie 185 the other day. Not bad. I was actually able to draw it. Did not expect that!!!!
Cons: Nothing so far. Got exactly what I expected. If you are looking for the distance iron or one that corrects your flaws, look to the 23's.
Quality: Top notch. Look classic. Notice how well past models wear in my buddies' bags and I expect these to do the same. Just clean em after you hit em and youre gonna be good to go.

Review Summary: Bottom line, top notch clubs for the single digit handicapper. A mid capper may get away with them if you are consistent. Can get away with more forgiving long irons and then get these for the scoring irons. Pure, predictable flight. No fliers at all. Always seem to go the same distance, and to the spot I thought they would go. Mis hits dont hurt as much as expected, but they do let you have feed back and will come up short. Shanks will be shanks and bad swings will produce bad swings here. Dont lie to yourself. All clubs are GIGO (Garbage in, Garbage out). Bottom line, if you love to feel your club, this is the one. Get custom fit, look at the rifles, and if you practice you will be rewarded. As long as you play once a week, practice once a week, and are a 15 or lower, you can handle these clubs. Happy trails!! See you at the bar....collecting money.

Purchase: $799 at Roger Dunn in North Hollywood, CA, in January '05. I needed an upgrade. I got these because they looked so pretty, and the demos played OK. Sorry about the late review, but I thought I would add this here because I am switching to another set. (it is now July 05, six months later. I played a lot of golf this year, particularly in the last 2 months, as I was off from work. I've played about 70 rounds so up to this point with these clubs).
Pros: Excellent balance, clean lines, immediately makes a good player feel confident. When hit well, the ball holds the line brilliantly and feels effortless. Damn, it sure is pretty and cleans up real nice. This is a control club. Not overly long, but it helps you keep it straighter.
Cons: Well, as you would expect, this is not a very forgiving club. If you miss it, you MISS it, and the ball flies low, you lose distance, your hands hurt and you've got a crook in your neck from the vibration - after all, it is still a blade and the hitting area is still damned small. Too heavy with the Dynamic Gold S300 Steel Shafts. The shaft is the heaviest in the land, and I think this head is heavy too - to help you straighten out the ball flight and to give you a mid-low trajectory. Because it is heavier than most, you tend to get tired sooner because it takes that much more effort to swing it.
Quality: The stock grip could be better: At first it may feel soft and cushy and nice - but after just a few rounds, it tends to get real slippery when it's even slightly wet and the oil tends to build up. Luckily for me I'm out here in the dry heat without much rain (well, when it rains, most of the time it POURS, so the courses won't let you play as they get flooded anyways and they have bad drainage because they WANT the water to hold in the dry months...... oh well). But I digress........ The face is not very "stainless." I left it slightly wet for a few days after the rains and my PW, 9 irons had rust on the face - because the coating had been stripped from various dirt and sands from the courses. I expected better. I think most people who play a lot would want to keep replacing this club with a new set every few months or so.

Review Summary: NOT FOR THE WEEKEND GOLFER! NOT the clubs for the casual, fun, golf game. If you only get to play once a week and you can only practive a couple of times and you are not a very strong person, this is NOT the club for you. The club is heavier than others - I compared it to clubs like the Ping G2 and even the Titleist and this club is WEIGHTED heavier. IF you get this with lighter shafts, that may work, but you may also end up losing the control. I mean I've played a lot this year because I've had a lot of free time. But every time I grab this club, I know I have to grab at least a club bigger to get there, because I know I would want to "control" it in to the green, rather than hammer it in there. They are still Blades, no matter what the "good" players tell you. Those guys tell you it feels like butter because they play all the time. Now it's 6 months later, I know I'm not going to be able to play as much, and so I am switching to more forgiving clubs.

Purchase: Sick of cleaning the Ping I-3's. What a pain in the ...! These MP 32's were just so DAMN PRETTY! I'm gonna shoot the same score no matter what I play with. Got 'em on ebay. Half inch short, 2 degree flat with special rifle shafts.Paid maybe $650-700. Did I mention they are just so DAMN PRETTY! (how sick is this. I'm gettn off on a set of golf clubs).
Pros: Hmmm. Let's see. How about...they're just so DAMN PRETTY!
Cons: They can't kiss back.
Quality: One look tells you these babies are built like no other and oh,to feel them in your hands. Just to touch them. Sorry,I have to stop now. Becoming too much for me. Phew!

Review Summary: Once you're a Mizuno hack, you never go back?!

Purchase: Strolling through Roger Dunn one day looking at the used irons and came across a new set of Mizuno MP-32's in the "90 Day return" section. They didn't look they had even been touched. They were marked down to 649.00 so I hit a few into the new they had set up and loved the feel of them.
Pros: Looks and Feel of the club are the biggest selling point for me at this point. I have my index down to 4.6 but I don't just recommend these to low handicappers. I have played a few shots off the toe and I was surprised at how forgiving the club was. As long as I have the right shaft in the club, I pretty much score the same. But it is much more enjoyable to play a club that looks great and feels even better. Right away I noticed I could work the ball a bit more with these clubs. The sound at impact is sweet as well. I did lose a few yards with each Iron but that is mainly because I was coming from adjusted ping ISI's.
Cons: I have had the clubs for over a week now and have hit the range every day, sometimes twice a day. Still haven't found anything that I dislike about the club. Unless you count the people at the range asking me if they can try a few shots with them to see how they feel.
Quality: Everyone knows Mizuno builds one of the best Irons on the market so I am not going to beat a dead horse.

Review Summary: If you have always wanted to play blades because they just look soo darn sweet, but you don't want to give up the forgiveness of your cavity backs... Give these a try, you will be pleasantly surprised how forgiving they are. But I am not going to fool you into believing that they are just as forgiving as cavity backs. I am enjoying these clubs soo much that I am going back to the golf shop to try out Mizuno's MP 001 Driver.

Purchase: Bought it off a seller on Ebay ($550 + $25 3 day shipping) Could have gotten a better deal on ebay, but really wanted those irons. I had hit the 6 iron demo that I got from a local store and loved it. Also tried the Mizuno MP 30's, MP 33's and MP 37, Ben Hogen Apex FTX, Titeliest 690 CB, Cleveland TA2's etc.. Reviews on this website for Mizuno's were solid. Absolutely know why now.
Pros: This is a beautiful looking set of grain flow forged irons, looks like blades, plays almost like cavity backs. But not really that forgiving. I am a mid to high handicap, but don't be fooled by that because I am somewhat wayward of the tee with my driver and I am not great with putting. But my iron play is solid. So I was ready to reward myself with this new set. I also loved the look and feel of this the most compared to the other ones. The only other brand that appealed to me was the Ben Hogan Apex FTX. Boy what a beauty! Feel is almost as good as these Mizuno's. But I thought that they would loose their looks after 20 rounds, whereas these MP32's although not fancy looking, have an understated thing about them and I liked that! Cleveland's have higher trajectory than I would like to see. MP 32's also have somewhat of a higher trajectory compared to the MP 33's and 37's, both of which are as far as can be from forgiving. I also found that the MP33's had a better feel than 32's and the 37's had the best feel, but were least forgiving. Would have bought the MP30's but really wanted the blade like look! Mind you - your Swing really needs to be on the plane to make sure you hit the sweetspot and experience the buttery feel that only Mizuno's have. I have played a round of golf since I bought them and I absolutely love them. They simply have the best feel!
Cons: Really not any dislikes, for the price, this is the best game improvement set you could buy on the market if you are a little more than a weekend golfer and really have some passion for this game. I still need to get the right driver for my game, to see any improvement in scores, but thats no fault of these irons. Did not get the Mizuno cap with the set, shame the seller on ebay must have sold it separately. The only negative thing I can see as of now is the distance, my yardage, although I have not confirmed it, I may have lost a few yards with these irons. I am not sure if it is because these have a slightly higher trajectory and because the ball lands softly that I don't quite see the roll and so seems like I may have lost some distance. Although I really would like to see the ball land ever so softly - its a great feeling to see those butterfly landings as long as you don't come short of the green!
Quality: There is no doubting the quality of these irons. Mizuno makes great clubs for all level of players. No wonder they are number one on the tour 8 years in a row. The feel is great, and so far the irons have held up very well (although its been less than a month).

Review Summary: Best set of Game improvement irons on the market! Reward yourself with one - very reasonable price to pay for a handsome set of irons! My swing guru who has owned Ping for 20 yrs is also switching to these, after he saw mine. Also may give you some inspiration to get to that range and hit some balls regularly and get to the course and shoot some good scores!!

Purchase: I have been looking for a new set of golf clubs for the past year and half. I have had several sets of clubs in my bag over this period of time. TaylorMade LT, PING S59, Cleveland TA3, Mizuno MP 30 and finally, Mizuno MP 32's. I kept each set of clubs in my bag for several months but none of them felt, played or gave me the confidence like the MP 32's. I paid 525.00 from Golf USA after a trade in of an old driver.
Pros: The first thing is the look of these irons, both during setup and just in the bag. They are outstanding with great feel(super soft), forgivness(yes, even for a blade, these are very forgiving), setup(easy to setup straight to your target) and accurancy. Make sure to get these set for you. DO NOT TAKE THEM FROM THE GOLF SHOP SHELF RIGHT OUT ONTO THE GOLF COURSE. Go to the local golf shop or your local pro to help get these setup for you.
Cons: Nothing at all. I have finally found my set of irons. These irons WILL NOT leave my bag for a long time.
Quality: The irons are forged and they will ding. Most likely, anyone looking at these already knows this.

Review Summary: Again, I have tried several different set of clubs and there is nothing better on the market right now. Matter of fact, I really do not think there will be anything out there that will match these for some time. Mizuno is a great company to deal with. Great customer service and willing to help. GREAT JOB MIZUNO!!!

Purchase: Traded RAC LTs (trade value: $360); Second Swing has the clubs in Pittsburgh for $799.
Pros: Good looking, good quality. Every inquiry suggests that this club (for a true blade) is state-of-the-art (from a technology perspective). Head size isn't too small and claims that these clubs' "hit the ball straighter" are certainly true from my experience. I was very close to purchasing the Titleist 680s and feel good about my last minute change of heart.
Cons: I quickly re-gripped. Despite the fact that I like the tour velvet just fine, the version on these clubs are too hard and not near as tactile as should be the case. No big deal, as I likely would have changed the grips anyway, but I'm perplexed with why something as simple and important as "grip feel" seems to be ignored by product marketers.
Quality: Excellent.

Review Summary: Very pleased with my purchase. I'm anxious to see how they hold up. I highly recommend them to good players who are thinking about the TA2 or Titleist MBs and CBs. As much as I liked the look of my LTs, one round with my MP 32s was a real eye opener. There is no comparison. While I know that I'm talking about fundamentally different irons, the point is, the MP 32s don't just feel better, they outperform from rough to fairway.
