On 2009-10-22, DON rated this Mizuno MP 60 a 5...(8578)

Details: Standard length and lie. TT Dynamic Gold S300 shaft with OEM grip

Purchase: Picked up the MP-60 6 iron at a golf shop going out of business for $5.00
Pros: The MP-60's are excellent irons. Top quality Mizuno forged heads. The MP-60's have a good size cavity back design and are very forgiving. Much more so than any of the other MP irons I've tried.
Cons: Nothing to no like.
Quality: Excellent forged head and TT shaft is top of the line.

Review Summary: This is the best Mizuno iron that I've hit. It's very forgiving for a forged iron. Ball flight is high and long. Pretty easy to work the ball is needed. Thin top line, just like a blade. Not as easy to hit as the MX line of clubs, but easy enough for any golfer with a handicap under 15 or 20. Before you buy any set of irons, do yourself a favor and try the MP-60's. Excellent irons for good golfers.

On 2005-10-03, Ron S. rated this Mizuno MP 60 a 5...(6263)

Purchase: I acquired this my irons from a wholesale source for $600. The retail cost appears to be univerally $849. My are equipped with Rifle 5.0 shafts to match my previous set.
Pros: These clubs are simply amazing. I switched to the Mizuno line about five years ago and fell in love with the feel and performance of every set(MP 14s and MP 32s). I ordered a set up MP 60s after simply reading the specs and seeing a photograph. I was more than surprised when they showed up. They look and feel like a players club, sleek top line and almost blade like appearance around the cavity. They play like the most forgiving club on the market. The biggest surprise to me is that the 3 and 4 irons are incredible easy to hit; a friend of mine has confirmed with his set. Prior to switching to MP 60s, I had retired my 3 iron for a hybrid and was planning to do the same with the 4 iron.
Cons: The clubs are OUTSTANDING. If I had to pick something, I would have gotten better grips than the standard Golf Pride Tour Velvets.
Quality: The club is simply beautiful, sleek on the top and bottom. I can't play bulky clubs and this fits my eye perfectly. It is actually sleeker that the MP 30 line that it is replacing. The claim of more foregiveness is true for me. I am 10 yards longer per iron than I was with my MP 32 set. It is my opinion that Mizuno makes some of the most attractive irons in golf; and their performance matches their looks.

Review Summary: In the bag, they look like players' clubs. On the course, you can play like a player without having the usual bulky, clunky, oversized look of traditional cavity backs. I haven't found anyone that dislikes this club.
