On 2009-09-29, DON rated this Mizuno MP 67 a 5...(8559)

Details: Standard lie Dynamic Gold S300 steel shaft.

Purchase: Purchased at a golf shop going out of business for $5 for a demo 6 iron, No signs of wear at all
Pros: Excellent Mizuno quality forged irons. Very easy to work the ball, good feedback on contact. Good distance and nice ball flight. If you like the feel of forged irons, these are some of the best available.
Cons: Very little in the way of foregiveness. Pretty much the MP-33 blade with a small cut out in the middle of the back of the head. Not enough foregiveness for anyone other then really good iron players.
Quality: Excellent quality as with all Mizuno irons. Grain flow forged irons are as good as they get.

Review Summary: The MP-67 is pretty much the MP-33 Blade irons, with a small 'cut muscle' cavity in the lower portion of the back of the head. This is NOT a cavity back club, it's a BLADE with a small cut-out in the lower half of the blade. Just a little more foregiving than a full blade, but not enough to notice be anyone other than a good iron player. The MP-67's are only for the really good iron players.

On 2007-03-29, pg1872 rated this Mizuno MP 67 a 5...(7701)

Details: mp 67 irons (forged), Shaft-S300

Purchase:
Pros: Great looking forged blade. Nice hybrid between muscle back and the cut muscle mp 32s.
Cons:
Quality: Typical mizuno quality blades. Nice.

Review Summary: I have been playing forged blades since I was 18 (Titleist 690.mb's, 680s, Mizuno mp 14's, mp 33s and mp 32s, currently collecting dust) and these by far are the best blades I have played thus far. They are also forgiving. Line em up, put a smooth swing and release on them and the ball flies at the pin. Incredibly sweet. They seem to have a larger sweet spot than recently played Titleist 680s and 681s. That's why I switched. I recently was able to play on back to back days and after having these clubs for only two weeks, I hit a pin from 135 yds out, on the fly, on one day and hit another pin from 165 yards out on day two. My iron game is typically good, but I don't ever remember hitting the pin on back to back days. I'm having alot more 'makable birdie putts' and they are helping my score tremendously. If you are a forged blade player, I highly recommend giving these a 'test drive'.
