On 2005-08-07, mr_divots rated this Mizuno MP-32 Dynamic Gold R300 a 5...(6016)

Purchase: Traded in a set of MX-23's for these. The 32's were in like new condition at Nevada Bob's for $499. The MX-23's were easy to hit, but lacked feel in my opinion. I thought I would minimize mishits with the 23's, but ended up missing that solid/soft feel at impact.
Pros: Distance control is incredible. With a solid swing, the ditances are the same time after time. Soft Mizuno feel. Wider soles make them easier to hit than other "blade" designs. I would consider these almost a cavity back really. They are not that hard to hit, provided you have a pretty repeatable swing. Went to R300 Dynamic Golds despite having owned S300's in the past. Driver swing is 108-110, 5 iron is 94-95. The trajectory is better for me with the R300's, and they actually feel softer at impact with the softer shaft. I have not found the clubhead lagging at all. I didn't like the Dynamic Golds in S300, but am quite fond of them in the R300. These came with Sensicore. I still feel the shot, but it is smooth. These clubs are highly workable, but I find them easy enough to hit that a straight shot is not difficult either. So far, I have been totally impressed by these clubs.
Cons: Nada. Very solid. Just keep them clean and have the lofts and lies checked a couple times a season. Mizuno tour velvets tend to get a bad rap, but they feel like aftermarket velvets to me. Wet towel makes them nice and tacky. The TT shaft labels tend to fray quite easily. You can purchase new ones if your set looks shaggy, but TT needs to make better labels. Had this happen with other TT shafts too.
Quality: Superb. Had these bent to my lie specs and they came through brilliantly.

Review Summary: Easily the best feeling irons I've owned. Soft feel, workable, precise distance control. They do it all and can get more people into a "player's" iron design than they may have previously thought. If you have a solid iron game that is ready to be taken to the next level, put these on your demo list. Having owned a set of MP-33's previously, I can tell you these are easier to hit while maintaining their high-performance roots.
