Purchase: Bought Mizuno mx 20's about 3 months ago for $175 on e-bay. Standard lie, stiff shaft s300. Pros: I love the irons. It took about 3 weeks to be comfortable with irons. The old clubs did not give feed back on mis-hits. It took awhile of feeling the mis-hits with the Mizuno's to correct problem. Now I seem to mis-hit only a couple a round. The are extremely long. Driver swing speed-98mph. 7 iron distance-170yds. I am a 7 handicap, concerned about forged (fight over the top). Wish I had bought a long time ago. If I didn't average 34 putts, I would play alot better with these irons Cons: Not much to say. They ding up easy, because of the softness. Grips are hard. I have a hard time with 3 and 4 irons, but I always have had problems with long irons. Quality: Excellent Review Summary: Try them. I have a friend that just bought the MX-23's. Nice irons, but if you can find a great shape MX-20's, buy them. E-Bay has them for under $200 if you shop..

Details: Graphite shafts: Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue Regular flex. grips.Standard loft and lies. Grips Winn V-17 Arrow,
Purchase: The Mx-20 irons were recommend to me by a friend who is a club fitter and builder for a company named Golfing by Design here at home. He checked out my swing on a launch monitor recommend the Grafalloy Prolaunch shaft and readjust my loft and lies. I bought the clubs used on ebay for $230.00. Paid $350 for new shafts and grips for a total of $580.00.
Pros: I normally hit my 5 iron btw 160 and 165 My shots now are higher land softer and average 10 more yards then before. I like the looks of the irons when I set up. My irons are set at a D-3 swing weight, standard loft and lies. I feel more of head through my swing now and have better control of them. Cons: I really have nothing that I do not like about the irons other then when I bought them they came with 4.5 Rifle steel shafts. I prefer a graphic myself Quality: You got to love the looks of these heads. The top line is not as thicks as so many of the other game improvement irons. I really do not like the looks of a thick top line. But thats a personal preference. Review Summary: For the first time since I started playing the game I know have a better feel of the club. The sweet feeling of a well struck ball against a forge club verse cast is like night and day. I can now pick an iron out of my bag and trust the shot. My shot patterns are tighter then ever before and the distance is consistance with every club averaging 10 more yards then my old clubs. Nice to know just what each iron can do for a change. Purchase: I bought these regular steel shafted irons from Nevada Bob's in Slough, England for £499 in August 2003. They did a great job in custom fitting, although I went elsewhere to have the lie angle adjusted a couple of weeks later. Pros: These irons looks great, and the lack of confidence in the way they look behind the ball disappears the second you strike even closer to the middle. Its really a gorgeous solid feel. I've always struggled with mid to long irons - to be honest even my 7 iron only went well one in three shots! The difference with the MX-20's really was overnight. Whilst I still cannot consistently hit the three iron well, the four sails away a dream. And the 'FEEL!'
With confidence in every one of the clubs the mental side of my game is ten times better.
In fitting, whilst I have a powerful swing, I found that the stiff shafts were a little too stiff and regular turned out to be just fine.
Cons: The thin top edge gives little in confidence but is so much more pleasing to the eye than the 'thick-top-edge' opposition in this game improvement category.
Whilst the grips are nice, they do get a little more difficult to keep steady in wet conditions. Quality: These are forged cavity backs and SO forgiving. Even my club pro was advising me not to get forged irons but he was SO wrong. He knew that he was wrong on the next 'nearest pin' challenge. They're so forgiving that I don't know if my swing has improved or if the clubs are doing all the work for me - all I know is my handicap came down from 27 to 21 in 6 weeks with no more effort from me! Review Summary: Anytime I stand on the tee next to a player with MX-20's, I'm going to be thinking I have to play well to beat him because he sure-as-hell isn't going to miss too many fairways and greens. Purchase: Bought this iron get off LiquidGof.com about a year and a half ago for $599. Pros: I love the forgivenss and soid "click" I get when striking the ball well. These are well designed with the diminishing cavity back through the irons. They allow for great ball flight with both long and short irons. Easy to hit! I highly reccomend getting them with the Sensicore shafts, I did. Cons: Not much I dont like about "my babies". Quality: Very well made, very minor scratches and no damage to club after over 200 rounds. Review Summary: Highly reccomended to golfers anywhere from 5-30 handicappers. Very forgiving and easy to use while being long enough and accurate. On 2003-06-30, Minnesota Dave rated this Mizuno MX-20 a 5...(1667)
Purchase: I aquired these clubs through e-bay. I paid $425 for them. Pros: After doing some heavy review on which club would be right for me, a 10 handicapper. I came down to the MX-20's, and the X-14 pros. The deciding factor however was the fact that I was hitting the MX-20's a full club length further than all of the other irons tested including the X-14 pros. The feel is amazing as well, but the distance will blow you away. Cons: The price is a little high, but if you shop around, you will find a good buy on these clubs. Quality: The clubs are beatiful at address. One can feel very confident about hitting these. I have the stiff graphite and although I don't usually hit graphite, but these are nice. Review Summary: I would definitely shop around and test as many clubs as possible, but for me, the Mizuno MX-20's were the perfect clubs for a 10 handicapper. Purchase: I purchased a demo set with a rifle shaft at Fred's Golf & Discount in Gallatin, TN. I'd been looking at this club for some time and had been as far as being measured for some, though backing out at the last minute due to cost. However I found these demo clubs, where only 2 of them had actually been hit. I paid $499 for 3-PW. I understand they were a custom order and the customer cancelled. Pros: They feel great. The feed back after striking the ball is immediate. They look great at address and feel solid in your hands. I have gained about 1-1/2 clubs, especially in the medium and long irons. Played 3 rounds with them and my playing partners were pestering me to be able to hit them. At least 2 partners are now considering buying some. I hit every par 3 off the tee (unheard of for me)and my approach shots were either on the green or the fringe. Great clubs which give me great confidence. Wished I'd bought a forged club years ago. Cons: Nothing. Quality: Obviously high quality clubs, with no flaws in qualiy of construction. Review Summary: Adds length and confidence to my game. Highly reccommended. Purchase: Purchased from Roger Dunn's Golf shop in Santa Ana, California for $529. I had heard from a number of friends that these clubs are superior in distance, feel, and control over my Ping I3 Irons. I demoed them, and I was hooked immediately. Pros: The distance, feel and control are truly outstanding. I will never go back to cast irons again. These forged clubs are at least 1 1/2 clubs longer than my Pings, have a superior feel, and are more forgiving even on mishits. The immediate feedback from hitting the sweet spot is almost addicting.
As an intermediate player (high 80's)looking to improve, I wanted irons that I could "grow" into as I improved my game, but forgiving enough that it would not stymie my development. These irons fit the bill perfectly. Shape shots? No problem. Need effortless distance? You got it. Want to know when you've hit the sweet spot and when you've mishit? Gives immediate feedback.
Cons: The only complaint I have is the pitching wedge is lighter than I'm accustomed to. I prefer a heavier wedge. Quality: Fantastic. The steel shaft is almost as light as the graphite shaft. The forged construction is top-notch. Review Summary: Bottom line: Demo them. Borrow them. Buy them. Whatever. Just try them and you'll understand why so many have become Mizuno MX-20 addicts.
