On 2003-09-13, Bingyko rated this Mizuno T-Zoid MX-20 a 5...(2298)

Purchase: Mr friend had bought some MX-15s and I tried them out on the field. They were easy to swing and the ball seemed to jump off the face. Currently, owning 15 year old Tommy Armour 845s, which are great irons, they have lost some zing. By the way, I live in Korea and clubs are expensive here. I was actually looking for a driver but suddenly a MX-20 iron set caught my eye. After some hesitation, following my friend's advice I bought the MX-20s for U$ 900 (around 500~600 dollars cheaper than normal). The place was a wholesaler and that's why the MX-20 was so cheap.
Pros: Compared to my old clubs, they definitely have a more lively feeling and impact is solid. I normally hit my 9 iron around 145 yards but with my new clubs I hit over the green by around 10 yards. I also like the feel that is passed on from the head up to shaft to my hand. The sound of a solid hit is also really cool. Its like a sharp slap sound.
Cons: Nothing as of yet but I do prefer the grips of my previous Tommy Armour irons.
Quality: There seems to be no defects or blemishes as of yet. Compared to U.S., Japanese clubs tend to have better finishes.

Review Summary: I have owned 4 different set of irons and have tried numerous other irons my friends or pro shop has. Among them, I find that the MX-20s have the purest hits. Although, these are my first forged irons, I have found them to be quite playable and when hit well, they provide a sensation I did not receive from my previous clubs. Overall, this is one impulsive purchase, which panned out very well. Two Thumbs Up.
