Details: T-Zoid Pro 2 irons, 3 to PW, fitted with dynamic gold R300 lite steel shafts. Golf pride tour velvet grips at standard size.
Purchase: I bought the T-Zoid Pro 2's on ebay for £65, simply to try them and the Dynamic Gold R300 Lite shafts. The intention was for me to pull the shafts and fit them into my current Taylor Made RAC LT irons as the current DG R300 seemed to be just a little too stiff and boardy. However it turns out that these are taper tipped, where as the LT's take a paralell tip. Pros: The Pro 2's sit behind the ball very well, and have a very shallow profile sole, hence there is minimal 'bounce to any of the clubs...for me making it easy to play off tight/hard summer fairways. When playing a good quality or low compression ball the feel is superb (I use a wilson PX3 with zero compression). As these irons have a taper tip, each shaft is made specifically for each iron. (Rather than with parallel, where they are trimmed afterwards to the correct length). For me this means that every iron is of a constant weight and helps build a more repeatable swing.
The distance, is also remarkably long. Perhaps playing two clubs longer than my RAC LT's. As and example I hade previously been hitting an 8 iron about 125 / 130 yards with the RAC LT's. With the T-Zoid Pro 2's, the same swing gives me a shade over 150 yds. OK...the lighter shaft could be part of the cause however, the accuracy and control also seems better.
As a blade / shallow cavity iron they are also much easy to hit than you would think. Certainly easier than the RAC LT's. Cons: The only negative aspect is keeping the irons looking young and new. These irons are very soft forgings, and hence the groves need plenty of care, and the faces need cleaning ASAP to stop any 'browing' occurring.
Lastly, if you use a 2 piece or other slightly harder ball they can transmit a lot of negative vibes back to the grip. Quality: Top quality construction. These irons must be approaching 10 years old now, yet they are still in good condition. The usuall such as grips will need replacing, however that is normal for all clubs. Review Summary: A great set of irons, when fitted with the right shaft for your swing. A very good feel, and control when using a 'better' qulity ball. Much easier to use than most would imagine, and these days as cheap as chips! Also, these are forged irons, so loft and lie adjustment +/- 3 degree or so is fine.

Purchase: $120 off Ebay, cut down 1/2' for $10, in descent condition with brand new grips. Pros: These irons are very consistent, when i first got them, I could not hit a descent shot at all. I got them cut down 1/2' and that made a HUGE difference. About every shot I hit has been solid. Long irons are very easy to hit, and off center hits go 10-20 short with a fade. Cons: For a Forged iron, the feel on these is not as good as expected. Previously I owned a set of Hogan radials, but i grew out of them and lost a few clubs. Quality: My 7 iron shaft broke yesterday by the grip, probably because i hit a big iron pipe that was camoflauged infront of my ball. Review Summary: Not bad for the value, Good feel, great looks, nothing too bad. If you can pick these up for under $140, you might like them On 2005-10-05, David Gisbourne rated this Mizuno T-Zoid Pro II a 5...(6280)
Purchase: I paid £450 about 8 months or so after they first came out. I had persisted with my old Mizuno TP9's for years and although they had served me well, their time had finally come to move on. Pros: These are totally fantastic clubs that I wouldn't swap for any other clubs even the more expensive ones. I am very much a golfer that relies on feeling confident when I look down at the clubs during set up, and I haven't found any better looking than these (and I used to work in a golf shop!). You name a type of shot and I can play it with these clubs which is something I couldn't do with my previous clubs so well or the Titleists that I considered buying instead of these. Cons: I honestly can't say a single negative point about these clubs. I think they would be a struggle for a high handicapper to use maybe, but at least they would look good! Quality: If God made golf clubs........ Review Summary: Don't buy them because I like being one of the only people I know who has them and it is nice when people ask to have a look at them and can't resist hitting a ball or two.
