Purchase: www.moonshotgolf.com website online. Our golf pros recommended me to buy clubs at moonshotgolf because of their quality and variety of clubs available. Moon Shot is the most respected golf club maker that customizes clubs and offers better quality shafts and components than the brand names. They offer original designs as well as many new model generics and knockoff clubs. All the clubs are current designs. I paid $169.00 for the Black Shark Blended irons. These are unique blended irons because the long irons are hybrids and the mid and short irons have a lower and deeper center of gravity than the new Callaway X-18 irons.
Pros: The quality of the irons is superior. I ordered the Dynamic Gold steel shafts, but there are many other steel and graphite shafts available. I compared them on the range to the Callaways and found them far more forgiving because the hybrids are far easier to hit than the 3, 4 and 5 standard irons and the others have a deeper center of gravity so they launched the ball higher. I was able to hit shot higher and straighter with the long and mid irons. These are great irons. And, the price is right!
Cons: I suggest that moonshot get themselves better exposed. But, that may force them to charge more. Their quality and customization are unique in the golf club business. Also, there are so many designs available it is a little confusiong. I intend to get another set which I can use for different conditions. For example, in windy conditions, I am going to go with another set which keeps the ball lower. There are a couple of sets that I am looking at moonshot.
Quality: Moon Shot customizes shafts, head weights, lies and lofts without any charge. I have never found another company like moonshot that does the custom work for free. Their standard shafts are high quality. At the other end, you can pay $300 for a shaft if you really feel compelled for some devilish reason. They give you honest opinions about their components and don’t try to make you buy more expensive clubs just for their own profitability. I can’t tell any difference from the brand names, except for the logos and the big price difference.
Review Summary: Over the past many years, I got so brainwashed listening and reading about the new brand models every spring and then going out and blowing $1,000 on a new set at our local shop. Now, I can test out clubs locally and then buy similar designs from moonshot. Hey, that’s free enterprise. After my pro set me straight, forget the big name clubs. What a foolish waste of money. Moon Shot has uniquely designed clubs, ridiculously low prices and offers custom work. Like the way of IBM computers, no name computers and golf clubs should rule
