On 2006-04-13, beaner rated this New Balance WG1275 a 5...(6794)
Details: The women's New Balance 1275 is available in sizes 5-1/2 to 12 and 3 widths: A/Narrow, B/Regular and D/wide. There are two color choices: white/sand or white/gray. (There seems to be a wider variey of colors and sizes available for men.)
Purchase: Sadly, I could not find these shoes at any local athletic shoe or golf retailers. I had to order them direct from New Balance and pay full retail. The price is $119.99 at www.nbwebexpress.com. (shipping included...WOO HOO!!!)
Pros: This is my first pair of golf shoes, but I I have worn through two pairs of B-width New Balance running shoes a year, on average, for the last 20 years or so. As anyone who wears New Balance knows, they have a comfortable, wide toe box and consistent fit. Prior to my buying the 1275's, I had been playing golf in a pair of New Balance trail running shoes. They were comfortable, but I was really tired of my feet getting wet. I tried other brands of golf shoes, but I resisted buying anything because they just didn't feel very comfortable. Finally I discovered that New Balance had just started making golf shoes. The 1275 gives me the fit that I have come to expect from New Balance, the comfortable arch support I need to walk the course, and they keep my feet nice and dry! YAY!!! There seemed to be no break-in period needed - they fit comfortably right out of the box.
Cons: The price...OUCH! However, once retailers start to carry this shoe, the price should drop.
Quality: It's a little too for me to accurately predict the durability of this particular shoe, but based on my experience with other New Balance athletic shoes, I expect they will hold up very well.
Review Summary: This is an awesome golf shoe!!! How come no one is selling them yet?!
