On 2005-10-16, LJ Vegas rated this Nickent Genex Cross a 5...(6316)
Purchase: Paid $150 at Nevada Bob's in NE Calgary. Researched on line to get feedback on clubs, the Nickent Cross always scored consistently high. I have 2 of their 3DX utility clubs and liked the quality and feel from this manufacturer.
Pros: Very balanced feel when swinging, shaft is very high quality for OEM. This club hits it very straight, although you can work it both ways if needed. Comes off the face very nice, effortless feel. Consistently hit it 260 no problem. Lose a little weight and play more than 12 times/year, could see this increase easily. No one has said "Wow, a new Nickent Driver!". But when the ball explodes off the face and down the fairway they do seem a little mystified (wondering why they paid $400 for their drivers).
Cons: Not too sure about the whole theory of plasma welding and composite construction (how durable it will be). I have read Nickent are top notch when it comes to supporting their products though. Their web site needs to be easier to navigate, and yes, the stock head cover for the Genex Cross is quite hideous.
Quality: So far, no problems. I have registered all my Nickent products on their web site in case something happens (weld failing, face caving in, whatever). Review Summary: For the price and performance, this is a very under marketed driver. It has performed well this season, and I feel very confident with it, hitting driver on holes where I wussed out previously with an iron. This stacks up well with everything I have hit, except for the Taylor Made R7 Quad.

Purchase: Purchased from a Nevada Bobs via ebay for $249
Pros: Great looks, very clean lines, love the way the carbon mesh is subdued in the the top of the head. Very solid, just like the Genex 425, but the Cross has a lot more feel in the head, due primarily to the CounterBalanced shaft. You can really feel the head throughout the swing. Just as long as it's predesessor, but in my opinion, more forgiving.
Cons: My only gripe has nothing to do with the driver, but the head cover. Simply put, it's HIDEOUS!! Such an injustice to sheath such a gorgeous driver in something so vile....although, it is quite a theft deterrent, as no one would want to steal anything that ugly!
Quality: Top notch....as good or better than all the drivers costing hundreds more.
Review Summary: Go buy one! and pick up a new head cover as well!
