On 2005-10-12, white goodman rated this Nike One Gold a 5...(6297)

Purchase: i bougt the one golds for 40 bucks at a local sports authority and then got another box from my couzin for my birthday
Pros: my first shot with these balls was no dought the longest shot up until that point i had ever hit. the balls explodes off every club and still feels very soft and playable around the greens. very easy to put spin on. i am able to hit fades and draws with no problem.
Cons: $$$$$$$$$$$$
Quality: great three peice ball with very soft cover

Review Summary: great distance and workabilty, great around greens, easy to control with every clubb especialy mid irons, just a little to much money

On 2004-10-29, mr. divots rated this Nike One Gold a 5...(4712)

Purchase: I had tried the One Black, and I was lucky enough to find one of the Gold balls among the leaves during a recent fall round. It didn't have a scuff on it, so into play it went.
Pros: Despite the cold temps that day (about 48* F) It still had a very soft feel to it. The distance off the tee seemed a little shorter than the Blacks, but I play a fade primarily, so the Black tends to fly a little farther due to its straighter flight characteristics. Durable cover. Spin into and around the greens was very impressive. It was possible to play those one hop and stop low short pitches into the green quite easily.
Cons: I tend to play balls that are straighter in flight like the TA2 LNG or the one Black. It seems with super highly responsive balls such as the One Gold and ProV1, if you happen to mishit the shot, its really going to exaggerate that fact. Straighter balls are a real benefit unless you are playing a course with alot of trees that you have to work it around.
Quality: Top notch, but they should be for the price. Very minimal scuffing. Probably one of the softest yet most durable balls you will find.

Review Summary: Very good quality balls. If you are a control freak and need to work every shot you hit like Tiger, this responds to whatever type of swing you put on it. For those of us that need a little help now and again (I'm an 8 hndcp currently), the Black might be a better choice.
