On 2005-09-30, Craig rated this Nike NDS a 4...(6253)

Purchase: I bought the clubs from Austad golf for 350.
Pros: I like how they look. When going to the driving range I hit the first bucket straight out and high. When playing with them after getting used to the feel I found I had the confidence to walk up to the ball and swing away and be able to hit straight shots. I won't say long though; I used the Tommy Armour 845 earlier this year (the silver scott smaller head version) and was hitting 10-20 yards furher with those than with the Nike clubs. I like the irons though becuase they are very consistent; they certainly aren't a 1k set of calloways that require 3x a week play to gain proficiency. I like these clubs because they allow my game to take the odd week off and come back swinging the same way with the same confidence as before.
Cons: I lost some distance with these clubs. I am used to hitting a 3 iron about 220/230 and I was barely able to hit it 205 with the Nike's. But once you accomodate the shorter distance, the clubs strike the ball well and straight.
Quality: I have only used them for a few rounds, but they seem to be holding up well. The construction appears to be superior, many people have commented on how "nice" the clubs look. Nike is usually known for this.

Review Summary: I like these clubs and would recommend them. If I were playing 3x a week throughout the entire summer I would probably purchase blades by Nike or Calloway. As it is, I think these clubs are good because they accomodate and are forgiving for the player who might play once every few weeks, or only 5 times the whole summer.
